I've really flaky skin and have tried everything. All the creams, moisturisers, the lot.
I was lazy one day and just borrowed a cheap 'Skin Therapy' range cleanser, toner and moisturiser from Wilko, off my girlfriend.
They cost about 75p each, and for me, it works like no other.
Is it perfumed?0 -
No, it's not perfumed.
It says
pH balanced
Fragrance Free
Allergen Free
http://www.wilkinsonplus.com/invt/0216270 - that's the cleansing lotion, but I can't find the moisturising lotion or toner on their site, but they do have all 3 in their retail stores.
I don't know if the reviews at the bottom of this page http://www.ciao.co.uk/Wilkinson_s_Moisturising_Lotion__5111255 are of any use, but the link is there if you wish to visit it.0 -
i'm allergic to EVERYTHING and have a really sore nose from constant blowing (Doesnt that sound delightful
) and i've found the only thing that stops it being so sore is lip balm!
And I use hair conditioner as shaving creamWorks the same for me and a damn site cheaper!
Some people feel the rain...others just get wet0 -
Thanks for the tip about using value hair conditioner as a shaving cream :T I have a bottle of value conditioner which I bought ages ago - no idea why I bought it - but can't bring myself to use it on my hair!
I am rubbish about remembering to moisturise. The thing which tips me off that I've been forgetting to do it is when my skin starts feeling like sandpaper
Also pretty rubbish at bothering to take off my make-up at nightLuckily I'm using minerals at the moment, which isn't supposed to matter if you leave it on overnight. Of course if I haven't bothered to take my face off, chances are I haven't remembered to put my night cream on either (I refer you back to Exhibit A, your honour) though I have been known to slap night cream straight on on top of what's left of my faceful of minerals
Oh and one more confession: this past week I've been suffering really badly with dry cracked lips (and yes I have been moisturising them!) - I've tried everything - lip balms, moisturisers, etc. And then I discovered that the one thing which actually worked is Liz Earle Superskin Concentrate, which is not MSE in the slightest! Fortunately I have several 2ml phials which came with special offer packs off QVC, but I don't want to carry it around in my handbag because it's oily and I worry it'll leak and ruin my handbag. Yesterday I was out shopping and had to pop into John Lewis to slap some on from the tester bottleOperation Get in Shape

As a person with extremely dry, pale, sensitive, eczema-prone skin, it gets used for cleansing and moisturising as well, thus saving enough money for premium brand make up and perfumes.
Aqueous cream can feel a little 'clinical' but it is wonderful. DH has psoriasis and I got hooked that way, but we have two tubs on the go at a time, his plain one and mine that I make more indulgent by adding a few drops of essential oils that I know my skin is happy with.;)0 -
Instead of expensive body scrubs before putting tan on i use plain old dove soap with a pair of scrubby gloves...both under a pound.....and works better than the £3.99 scrub i bought out of superdrug
dove also works wonders as a face wash, clears all make up from my face.
Asda essential care wipes are fab.....3 for £2 and they are 4 in 1, eye make up remover, cleanser, toner and moisturiser. Leave ur skin feeling lovely!
Instead of buying heated eye lash curlers, i heat my bog standard metal ones up with my hairdryer....but if u try this....leave them a while before putting them near ur eyes as they get sooooo hot so quick!!
I'm not sure if those are classed as confessions lol0 -
I confess to using Tesco value conditioner (13p) instead of soap to shave my legs as it gives a wonderful silky smooth finish. It is the only thing that doesn't give me chicken skin after shaving.
Although I don't use value conditioner as a shaving cream, I use shower gel instead & it does the job0 -
Aqueous cream is wonderful and a real bargain - I use it as a cleanser. Boots do tubs of Dry Skin Cream (E45 like) which I use as a moisturiser. Don't like shower gel so I use soap and those scrubby gloves. Hand cream from Lidl is wonderful and cheap. My only extravagence is having my eyelashes tinted every 6 weeks, I end up with 'panda eyes' if I wear mascara.0

First I really recommend ginvzt's tip of using honey on lips- I found this thread a couple of days ago and whenever I'm in or pass the kitchen I put some on; it's not as sticky as you think and sinks in really quickly with fast results!
I discovered Avon's Satin Glow Airbrush Spray and it gives the best home fake tan results of all the many brands I've tried- no patches or streaks just the "fake tan spray" smell. I'm quite fair but I love the colour from the medium tone and I love the fact I don't have to stand there in my underwear until I'm sure it's dried as it takes about a minute! It's normally £5 but it's half price at the moment so I have lots. It lasts a long time too, so I use some everyday.0
