I have several confessions, and not really the helpfull tips ones others have posted
After being impressed with the "oil cleansing method" thread I went round every chemist in town asking for castor oil none of them had it, the last 1 kindly ordered me a bottle, he asked me what I needed it for I told him I was going to try it as a skin cleanser, he looked really surprised and said he'd never heard of it being used as anything but a laxative--- so all the chemists in town think I've got poo stuck up me bum:o
I had the bright idea to use a £land sting extractor (it's like a big syringe) to remove stubborn blackheads, it did work i was amazed at the gunk it sucked out my pores, then I got a bit carried away and ended up with a perfectly circular bruise the size of a 10p piece right in the middle of my chin for several days:eek:

Sometimes if my lips are really dry I put a tiny bit of moisturiser on them it sorts them out so much quicker than lip balm.
Oh last one- I HATE vaseline it stinks and feels horrid, I'm sure it would be better used on car engines or something- the thought of putting ot on my eyes makes me cringe.
I have really bad stubborn black heads just on my nose, I have really clear skin everywhere else and my nose lets me down, where would you get one of those syringe things you mentioned and how big??
Or does anybody else know any better ways of getting them? They are small but lots of them, I've tried those nose pore strips which imo are rubbish, then i resort to squeezing which ends up with me having a red raw nose and scabs as ive broken the skin, not attractive!!! x

I have loads of blackheads as well, especially on the nose (I also get some in T-zone) and the pore cleaning strips are useless! I think I had good ones only once -they were cheap brand from Lidl/Aldi, but didn't see them ever again. They didn't smell good, but they worked for a few days...

What are the best methods to get rid of blackheads - someone must have a secret that needs to be shared!

They have YSL Touche Eclat at my local Superdrug for £17.50 (approx, i was glancing at the time) which I think is really good for this product, I know its an expensive product but it is really really good, I use my Mums a lot and should really buy one of my own, does anyone know what 'number' to use?? As ive never bought one before and dont know which one, I have palish olivey skin that can look a bit green but tans well (a great description ha ha:rolleyes: )
i dont know what colour my mums is, its an old one and the number has rubbed off  they dont seem to have testers in the shop.....
    thanks x

I use number 1 and I have skin which sounds similar to yours.
Correct me someone if I'm wrong, but I THINK number 2 is paler (my Mum has it but it's way too pale for me) and number 3 is darK?
I have used number 1 for about 10 years and so just keep buying it cos it suits me. Why not get them to tell you in a department store which one suits you and then buy it from Superdrug?

I love it and wouldn't be without it.

I got it in poundland so very MSE but it does have quite powerful suction on it so I wouldn't recomend anyone else tries it, yes it did seem to some gunk out of my skin but it also damaged it.
Oh why can't we all have perfect skin.
    Booo!!!

My husband has bad pores on his nose and I confess that I love squeezing them. I get so much carp out of them and his nose doesn't go bright red or chap :o

  • Another confession of mine... I use the cheap version of Bio Oil instead of caster oil ect.. for the oil cleansing method :p Seems to work ok.. but then again, I ain't clued up on how well the castor oil/sunflower oil compares.
  • I use Montagne Jeunesse cucumber peel off masks for blackheads- they work better if you steam your face before using them though.
Owing to financial constraints, the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off until further notice. :(

I've really flaky skin and have tried everything. All the creams, moisturisers, the lot.

I was lazy one day and just borrowed a cheap 'Skin Therapy' range cleanser, toner and moisturiser from Wilko, off my girlfriend.

They cost about 75p each, and for me, it works like no other.
