  • Had one for two years and loved it - used it continuously until I got Sky plus last month. Only drawbackis limited recording time (10 hours).

See here for full and unbiased feedback on it. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds16022.html

How much are you thinkingof paying for it?

I've had a Humax 8000/80 for about six months and find it very good, the menus are not as slick as on Sky plus but your not paying a subscription to use it.

I have Sky as well but only two mixes which gets the cost down to £15 a month.

I would probably cancel Sky if only they showed the latest series of Stargate on terrestrial.

There are some reviews of PVRs here http://www.pvruk.co.uk/ . I was under the impression that the Pace had been discontinued but I might be wrong.

The Humax 9200 Twin tuner has had a few good reviews.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Absolutely love it - I don't get to watch TV that much but with a 160Gb hard disk I can record loads and just watch what I want whenever I get the chance.

I got it on a special deal through my work and pay just £10pm for all 6 mix packages including Sky plus for 12 months (box itself cost me £49 incl installation). I'm not sure if I would pay £30 - £40pm for the privilege though. I'll see howI feel in December 2006!
  • thats some deal you got there if i could get same deal i would go for it, how did you get it?

£10 all in nothing else to pay?
  • Hi
Ditched Sky altogether, bought a Topfield5800 PVR, 160gb hd, twin tuner, records 2 channels, whilst watching another, excellent quality and reception, one button record, all the freeview channels, dead easy to setup and record, and excellent quality in picture and when you playback your recordings.

Love it and wouldn't do without it now.

The PACE twin is very old hat these days.

I think you would be better picking up one of the Sagems from Argos .

Got a Sky promo leaflet with my payslip in November, offering all six mix packages for £5pm for 12 months. I always fancied SkyPlus so I phoned and asked how much extra it would cost to add it. Guy I spoke to initially quoted £15pm (orig £5pm + £10 for skyplus) and £89 for skyplus box.

I knew they were offering the sky plus box for £49 in other deals and when i queried the cost of the box he went away to check with his supervisor. When he came back and offered the box at £49 and a total monthly payment of £10pm including the channels I nearly bit his hand off. Phoned on the Tuesday afternoon and it was installed on the Saturday. Got one of the new Thomson PVR3 boxes too.

We've had the Humax 9200 for a couple of months now. It's the DBs. Even my technophobe wife loves it.

    Hi
Wouldn't it be cheaper to cancel Sky and just buy the dvd's of Stargate?
When I had Sky it was costing me £20mth just to watch Sky One and E4 (because that's all we watched) now we can still get E4, it's just Sky One thats missing, but its not worth £20 a month.
