Thank you, whats the parking like? expensive?
  • As for parking - obviously depends where - avoid King St West at all costs - about 80p per 15 minutes!

    I guess you'd be looking £12-£15 per 24 hours.

Depends where you're coming from but the Palace theatre is right opposite Oxford Road train station if that's an option?

Crikey thats a bit steep for parking... we live in Southport so not far to travel. Didn`t realise the hotels don`t have car parks.

Would you tend to book as soon as you decide the date or would you wait till last minute in the hope of a good deal?
You've struck lucky with your dates as they don't clash with nay major football fixtures of gigs at the MEN, so availability shouldn't be a problem.
    The hotels with parking are...

    Jurys Inn
Novotel and Ibis both have a reduced charge access to the NCP next door.
City Inn has it's own underground car park which not many people know about. ;)
Palace Hotel has very limited parking and it's a first come first served basis.

But with the excellent tram links, you can easily access a few hotels out at Salford Quays that have large car parks such as the Copthorne, Ramada and Etap. I've stayed at the Ramada and Copthorne and both are comfortable, but my personal preference would be for the Ramada.

Also as mentioned above, the Arora is gorgeous!

But I have a wild card for you...

The Atrium Apartments are very, very nice indeed. They are on the same block as the Palace Theatre, on the next corner along Whitworth Street and extremely secure with three levels of access before you reach your apartment. The staff there are great and if you gave them a call with your requirements they should be very helpful and may have parking deals available as they are next door to the NCP on Whitworth Street. Plus, with that location, you are less than 5mins away from all the fabulous restaurants in China Town.

totally agree ! I had forgotten about these - have stayed there a couple of times and would recommend.

Re parking - if you are going on a saturday night, arriving after 6pm, you could park on a meter for free and this will also be free all day sunday. may be tricky to find one though if you don't know the area .

To get in a secure carpark, you are probably looking at about £10-£15 for the overnight parking - there are cheaper options ( eg something like the overflow carpark at bridgewater hall is probably cheaper), but may not be quite as secure.
