maybe you need a better telly conor ? upscaling in cheap dvd player is largely a gimmick. a decent panel will do a better job.0

are you saying that my existing DVD player, which is nothing special and can be connected by either component or scart to my new HD tele, will give a better than reasonable pic, if my tele does the upscaling?
How would I know if my tele can/not upscale?
If you are saying the above then I don't need to buy the DVD player from Lidl.
