Predicting when the Icesave compensation will happen...

Trying to make some sense of the Icesave compensation timeliness (I refuse to believe that the payouts are random), we've established that compensation isn't made by:
Has anyone thought whether the 2nd email will follow the 1st email pattern?
I got email no1 on 5th November, at 01:26am. Has anyone who received their first email after me already received their second one?
If so, my theory doesn't work. If not, people can get a sense of how far down the list they are, and how soon they can expect email no2. Those of us who haven't received email no2 can then actually go out this weekend, rather than staying glued to computer, refreshing every minute.

you can go out because even if you do receive your 2nd email today/tomorrow it won't make a scrap of difference - the money ain't moving anywhere until the next banking day (Monday) anyway.
So staying glued to the PC waiting for the 2nd email over a weekend is a totally pointless exercise IMHO
Go out and have a life, it will come. Watching and waiting for it isn't going to make it appear any quicker!
(and no, I haven't had mine yet either so I'm not saying this from smugness)0 -

It's not so much about getting the money as quickly as possible, it's just knowing when to expect it.
And I have a life, it's just somewhat on hold at the moment0 -
I had my 1st email on the 4th and the second email on the 17th and the money went into my linked account Thursday.
I appreciate this is easier said than done but you can work yourself into a gibbering wreck worrying about it but it won't change anything whatsoever.0 -
Easier said than done indeed - i'm not a wreck, I'd just like to be able to work out whether I can expect the second email soon or not. If I'm going to get it on 4th Dec, I'd rather not spend the next week checking my emails all the time.
What time on the 4th did you receive your first email?0 -
Have mentioned this in another thread as I do not think the process of sending out 2nd mails is random and believe there must be some criteria. I thought perhaps in alphabetical postcode order-mine is OX and still have not had 2nd mail0

Can't be based on post code. I got my second email but my partner, she has not yet got hers.0

It'll be an iteration based upon the databases primary key.... and given that the primary keys will have been allocated at random, the resultant iteration order will to all intents and purposes be random.
However, while the iteration order will be random, it will also be deterministic - so the FSCS could (if they chose to) give each claimant an estimated date on which they will receive their 2nd email. (or alternatively, precisely how many other claimants will be served before you!)0 -
I think it would be too hard to determine what the ordering factor is - but I would imagine they've used the same for the 1st email, so if people post the time they received their first and second emails (if they've received the second), then we should quickly be able to work out whether that's the case.0

(I refuse to believe that the payouts are random)
Why not?
While, strictly speaking, they cannot be truly random (unless picked by ERNIE) they can (and do seem to be) in a sequence that we cannot know.
If it is done by database row id, every 10th account etc we cannot predict that.
There is no choice but to wait. Hopefully they will finally ramp up volumes next week.0 -
for the first email my wife got it a few hours before I did. However, while I have received the second email last Weds, still waiting for my wifes.0
