    Also worth noting this...

A mate of mine who works at MFI says that as of April they will stop accepting deals tokens. Apologies if this is old news. If its not then perhaps someone could check?

Don't want all you moneysavers saving for a kitchen only to find you cant use the vouchers anymore. Thats a lot of trips to Alton towers :)

I'm beginning to see the value of clubcard points/vouchers but think I must be using them for the wrong deals?

I currently spend around £250-£300 a month in Tescos (mainly fuel) and have a clubcard+ account. I think I earn between 1000 and 1500 points a month. I am currently buying BA airmiles with my points but I think this might not be the best use of my points as I too will soon need new bedroom, bathroom, kitchen etc. MFI might not be the cheapest but if it is effectively free I might as well get one from them.

Can someone tell me how the MFI deal actually works - e.g. based on my spend what kind of money off vouchers could I accululate in 2006? (Happy new year by the way). I think there is a dedicated website for clubcard junkies - can someone point me in the direction?

I think I'm going to have to start thinking about clubcard points more seriously now...
    Regards

Me too, my friend told me because he knew I was saving up for some stuff.
I only have around £300 in deals, and most of that is because i got 3500 for home insurance and used to do the old 150 points temporary card thing a lot.

Does anybody know if there is another statement date between feb and april?

Looks like I will definitely be spending everything after the February statement. Fingers crossed that all my points due to me end up on my statement, I should end up with nearly £700 of MFI vouchers - almost enough for the bedroom furniture I want, I just needed one more quarter of saving points, but if the deal is ending in April I guess I'll have to put a bit of cash towards it.

  • I've been saving towards our new kitchen too. Had my eye on a few other bits and pieces after that. Oh well, guess I'll have to save them towards a holiday instead.

We have just paid for a new kitchen and a bed a few days ago (£3600 altogether). We didnt like the price we were orignally quoted in this sale so we went to another branch and got an absolutely fantastic quote and the other store matched it. The highest voucher was £100 and we had about 32 of them. They just put it through separately as mentioned before. There was no problems. They would rather do that than lose the sale.

MFI can be slightly more expensive but if you managed to take advantage of the BE Beef offer like i did then your purchases wont cost you that much. We must have spent about £1200 on beef. Most of it was given away to homes, friends and family. So for our £1200 we have gotten, our kitchen, a Bosch integrated dishwasher, integrated F/F, oven hob & chimney hood, a Hotpoint Aquarious WM, a 10kg tumble drier and also a midi sleeper bed for the little one. I think that is a pretty damn good deal!!

We emailed MFI and asked if they were still accepting the vouchers and they said that you could still use them up until their expiry date. On MFIs website they have taken out most of the links and the terms and conditions of using the deal tokens. They also withdrew from giving out clubcard points on purchases last month so i am slightly convinced that come the next mailing we may not be able to convert points into MFI deal tokens....and if we do then they will have to be used quick.

How long can the MFI vouchers be used for? When is the expiry date?...

The expiry date of the MFI deal tokens are six months. I got mine in Nov/Dec so mine were valid until April anyway

  • My MFI vouchers which I have just used were valid for 6 months - it would be a huge shame if they stop this partnership with MFI - I had planned allsorts over the coming months.
