Tesco Clubcard and MFI Kitchens

Hi,
I was planning to save my clubcard vouchers up and use them against a kitchen. However I see that in the small print it states that a maximum of 15 deal tokens may be used against any single purchase.
With this in mind does anybody know what the maximum value of an MFI deal token is?
Also can I pay for fitting with the deal tokens?

I believe that it is a maximum 15 deal tokens per order but I did hear on another thread that someone had managed to avoid this by asking the salesperson to input some of the vouchers as a deposit then they went back into the order to use another 15 vouchers as the balance payment. I think the maximum deal token is £100 - we had £1,000 worth in £100 vouchers.
I am not sure if you can use the tokens for fitting but I have heard on other threads that MFI are quite expensive so it may be worth shopping around.
I went to MFI last week and bought a king size bedstead, a king size mattress, a set of pine bunk beds, 2 single mattresses and a computer chair - all bought with my Tesco clubcard vouchers. When I spoke to the sales assistant I asked if she would give me a further discount and she did - I had another 5% off the sales prices - so do ask the question because you may save yourself a few quid.
Hope that helpsI am the only Voucher Queen in my village LOL

MFI are expensive for kitchens!
Looked into a plan for small kitchen with them, sale and 25% off etc etc...about twice as much for a similar kitchen from them as B&Q, with the B&Q units fitting better, they have more flexibilty on sizes if space is limited. MFI internal bits, carousels etc expensive too.
MFI rang us 24 hrs after having thier plan drawn up, and insisted that their prices could'nt be beaten. After much assurance from us that they can, have been and are currently being beaten, all the MFI guy could say, was that we wouldn't be happy with the alternative kitchen - just wouldn't listen that it fits (so looks) better, and is cheaper so we v.happy without them. (Half price doors and 15% off).
Shop around!Bless Martin's Little Cotton Socks. I thank him for giving us MSE. Look what its grown into!

I agree Newbird that MFI are expensive however, we were faced with needing a new bed and not having the dosh to buy it with. So faced with either using Tesco vouchers and getting the items free OR not being able to afford the beds we used our vouchers, perhaps OP is in the same situation or maybe not but for us we couldn't have shop around as we wouldn't have been able to afford the items we wanted elsewhere.

Good point Welsh-Dragon, i was just thinking the same thing. Using Tesco deals vouchers is effectively free goods!I Hate Jobsworths!!!0

Hi WelshDragon, Yeh, what you did was fine! Excellent in fact.
I've been looking for other furniture items to spend vouchers on in there too, but the kitchen experience is not the best.
I understand you have to convert your Tesco voucehrs first, they wouldn't just take Tesco vouchers from me for a bed. I'm looking for more bedroom bits, but can't see anything that grabs me in there as yet. I'll keep watching for new items tho to try to use Tesco vouchers on. Thats why I went to check out the kitchens, but it wasn't good.Bless Martin's Little Cotton Socks. I thank him for giving us MSE. Look what its grown into!

Hiya Newbird yes we converted our vouchers first and I then I checked their website for the prices, the sale was the one with get a free bed, I didn't want a new bed so I waited for the next sale and bingo - cheaper prices on what I wanted. Swings and roundabouts I know but for what we needed and what we wanted they were excellent especially as it was free !! yes I know I had to shop at Tescos to get the points but with a large family of 6 it was easy to clock up the points.
Come next February's mailing we should have about £500+ to spend at MFI again and I have already planned a new bathroom suite - again an item we could not have afforded to pay cash for as Tesco says "Every Little Helps"

Ok I'm impressed, off to count up my Tesco voucers to add up how much I can get in MFI.

Well Newbird, I had Martins moneysaving book for Christmas - opened and read all the way through by Boxing Day afternoon !! - I highly recommend it and there is lots that I will be acting upon. Hubby is used to my "to do" lists but the current one is huge - a complete overhaul of our finances !!
Anyway, part of Martin's advice was ask for a discount so I did in MFI and got an extra 5% off - if anything that this site and Martin has taught me is always look out for the bargains and freebies but also ask nicely and with a smile !!I am the only Voucher Queen in my village LOL

you could order your kitchen in bits,
you have to spend £250 to be able to use the deals, if the kitchen is £3000 buy it in bits costing £1000 or less than 15 deals0 -
Hi,
I hadn't read this thread until tonight, but is interesting.
I spent £2400 of Tesco vouchers in MFI today (yesterday) on a new bed and bedroom furniture for my son.
Bed was invoiced separately at £300. 3 x £100 tokens
Bedroom furniture was £2100.The Manager said the best way was to put down £1500 deposit 15x £100 vouchers (the max allowed) then in a couple of weeks time when the balance was due I can pay the balance of my order in 6x £100 vouchers.Job done thanks very much MFI and Mr T.
Oh and also haggled a deal, managed 6% off + a couple of items thrown in for a few pounds as well that weren't in this sale but were in the last one.
I agree MFI are not the cheapest,B&Q units were cheaper, but B&Q didn't do the whole range I wanted.
Also as the Tesco vouchers only cost me about 30 to 35% of their value I got £2400 worth of goods for about £840 which I think is very good.I would not have afforded to kit out my sons bedroom if it wasn't for MR T.0
