There is no specific info posted on the website, even when you log in, however when you try and book a BA Miles redemption flight, you will find that the number of BA Miles required is HALF what it normally is.

This offer runs out on 28th November, so you need to be quick!!!

    Applies to Return flights only

It doesn't seem to apply to return flights only as I have just booked 2 one way seats to Istanbul club europe for half points

I booked four tickets for my husband and I and our two children( 19 & 23) form Newcastle to LA return, there was a problem with the online booking, so rang their call centre. The assistant suggested we could fly in or out of LA/SanFransico to suit our plans. In the end we decided to go LA/from LA, however as far as I can see on the website the only details you can key in are for the same return airport. Although there is a small fee to do this over the phone this is definitely worth it as we have since changed our minds and will now fly into Phoenix and out of LA having gone round via San Fransico & Pacific coast to get back. This will probably be our last family holiday as ddis off to Uni next year.
Welldone Withabix- you have done well with your tesco points, mine are all through flying but it takes forever to get there. Think I might need to do a bit more shopping with Mr T!
  • I have just priced up 2 of us going Club Class Heathrow-San Francisco next May.

Total cost is 100,000 miles and £760 odd. Last May cost us 50,000 miles and £1900! Cheapest "normal" fare is just under £4000!

I used to earn most of my BA Miles from flying Loganair to varius obscure islands with work (too many flights in one year!!) and used to waste my Tesco points on other things!

I no longer have the opportunity to 'enjoy' Saab 340 flights, so Mr T has been my main source for the last 3 years.

  • I used to enjoy Inverness "Executive Lounge" AKA wee cubby hole in teh corner when I was flying INV-EDI-LHR=CAI every month for a couple of years.

Alas BA have abandoned The North and have become London Airways :(

I have 2 options for using my miles. Use points to upgrade to Business, or use all miles for free flight. The flight Im looking at is LHR-San Francisco, Business class next May. For a fair comparison I need to price it for 2 holidays to see if I would be better spreading my miles over 2 holidays.

If I use to upgrade, it will cost 2 of us 50k miles and £1832. For 2 holidays thats 100k miles and £3664.

If I use to pay for first flight, its 100k miles and £730. The second holiday would be full fare so 0 miles and £2550. Total 100k miles and £3280.

So, I would still be £384 better off using this offer. Although, I would get 13k miles extra by using the miles for upgrade (I would get miles for both flights whereas I would only get miles for the second flight when using all miles for the first)

But it would cost £258 to buy the lost miles, so still worth it :)

We did this holiday last May, Yosemite at the end of May is great - waterfalls in full flow!

Away to book a flight now :D:D
  • :( I booked a reward flight over a month ago. I am tempted to cancel and rebook but there are only 2 'free' flights per plane so I don't want to miss out.

One of the many glitches on this offer!

On Monday it was possible to book all sorts of combinations that the offer apparently excluded, although they did seem to tighten that up on Tuesday.

How long does it take for purchases using Clubcard vouchers take to show up on your BA Miles account? Will it credit in time to take advantage of this offer?

It's annoying that they don't fly from anywhere in england except London though.

I tried checking the price for 2 tickets from Manchester to Oslo, and Man-Lon-Osl return was 15000 miles (great) and over £300

I can pay much less than that on a journey half the time if I fly direct with EasyJet or something, and in european flights easyjet's as good as BA.

    That's the general idea.

No point in the major airlines trying to compete with the budget airlines on short haul flights. They've generally left that market.

No point in the budget airlines trying to compete with the major airlines on long haul routes. They tried. They failed.

Most major airlines have a single international hub in their base country. Britain is a very small country, so why do BA need a long haul hub anywhere other than London?

Most feeder flights into London are free (apart from taxes and surcharges) when you book a long haul trip with BA.

Also, redemption flights are never good value in economy, unless you're on a very long haul flight - but then you probably wouldn't want to do it unless desperate or can sleep like a corpse in an airline seat!
