Chez - I've just replied on your thread but also just read Lacoste kid's post.

Hey Lacoste kid - haven't heard from you for a while, how has bankruptcy been treating you?

I am unclear... if you have an IVA, does this prevent you from working in financial services? I am considering entering into a full and final IVA but I am concerned as a possible work opportunity has arisen where I may need to get FSA regulated.

Hilarious, you keep telling yourself it's not my fault blub blub.
My husband has just been made redundant am I !!!!!!!! myself, am I heck we have situations like this covered, it's called common sense, expect the unexpected.

Or maybe girl you could just expect the government to pay your mortgage
as in this post you made

My husband is about to be made redundant and will get a decent pay out of £30 ish.
However we have a £20k loan and £2,000 on a credit card, my initial thoughts with the change to the policy of the benefits people paying the mortgage is that we pay those off and then use the remainder to tread water until the government will pay the mortgage, 3 months I believe or he finds a job whichever comes first (obviously a job would be preferable of course).
However I've been told that they still count us having the money if we spend it on something they consider unacceptable, so I guess what I'm asking is paying off the loans unacceptable or a bad idea ?
    Thank you

Priority debts = mortgage, council tax, utilities (water, gas, electricity), insurance, VAT, income tax and any secured debts

You should speak to someone like the National Debt Helpline or CCCS. If you have a policy that covers redundancy then I can't see how they can sneak out of it, unless there is a clause stating that you need to use your redundancy money to pay the mortgage off or something.

I hope it all sorts out for you

And Girlygirl, I really hope you don't end up in financial trouble one day. You are being exceptionally insensitive wrt this entire situation.

There's a reason why bankrupts aren't able to be solicitors, in the army, police etc. You've proven yourselves to be untrustworthy.

Actually you can do those things if your a discharged bankrupt, solicitor might be a problem but thats almost impossible to get into without high end qualifications from a young age.
  • GirlyGirl is a TROLL - she's on housepricecrash forum too with the same username. People who go bankrupt are not trustworthy???? Like many actors and successful businessmen such as Richard Branson who has faced debt??? Get a grip you nasty, spiteful little person - let's hope you hit rock bottom and someone kicks you in the teeth, too - shall we???

  • Yes, I believe she was making comments on housepricecrash about how some people shouldn't be allowed to have children (because of debt problems). Nice.
