MBNA changing statement due dates

Dates will change due to the calendar. If your statement date is the 27th with 15 days to pay, than in Feb you will pay on the 11th. Whereas in Mar you will pay on the 14th. It partly depends on weekends and the calendar. Why not set up a DD payment for the minimum which for MBNA is £5 above the interest charged. You will never then get hit with a late payment fee and you still retain flexibility on how much you pay.
I dont understand why you dont check your statement each month for the repayment date. Surely you need to check the statement so you know what your payment is, or do you just shut your eyes and pay the same amount every month?0

I had this same problem with Intelligent Finance card but i rang them up and altered the statement date so the payment due date is now later. Its alright having a DD, what if you dont have enough money left at the end of every month to basically pay your credit card twice with one months wage.
They basically know most people get paid the last working day of every month and alot will incur charges as their payment will show as late.0
