wow!! i never knew any of this..some ways i feel what's it got to do with them type attitude, then the other half of me thinks if this screening was in place a lot of people that shouldnt have children (baby p's case for example) couldn't. an interview to determine if im a suitable parent..then they take 4-5 grand for the process!! i am shocked tbh but thankyou so much as i knew none of this!! x

We didn't have to have a face to face interview lol. We did each have to fill in a 6 page form though on our suitability to conceive dealing with issues like whether we have children who don't live with us, criminal histories, previous involvement with social services, etc. Fortunately we were able to tick all the right boxes so not sure what would happen if you didn't though the form does require you to give consent for them to approach other professionals such as your GP for more info if they think this is necessary, so it does look like they do take things a bit further if your circumstances are a little out of the ordinary.

You may have 2 seperate issues here. The ex's behaviour towards you, the threats to kill, putting your photo on line etc sounds like stalking to me, maybe a word with the police about it. She may be behaving like a loony and getting caught up in it and if someone was to to tell her that she is behaving illegally it dould concentrate her mind a little and she may realise that her behaviour is unacceptable and may have reprecussions on whether she keeps her child at all. Don't let this drag on

  • I'd actually forgotten about that form we filled in during treatment...but I do remember the bits about being asked if either of us had a criminal record, other children, etc
