Thank you MORPH3US! Got them from the cartridge people and just received email from them saying to take out cartridge, gently dry the gold chip and retry. Have done that and tried another new Jet Tec cyan and same problem - so annoying!something missing0

I would always go for Canon Pixma-just choose the one from the range that suits your budget and particular print requirements. I have an IP4300 that has been 100%.
Before that I had 2 Epsons but never again. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
This is the advice I was given:
Printer Will Not Recognize the cartridge
Please try the following trouble shooting tips which normally resolve any of the above problems
1. Remove the cartridge & make sure the blue tab is removed from the bottom of the cartridge, (Yellow tab on top of the cartridge if a Epson Cartridge) If not removed then remove & Retry
2. If Removed then clean with a clean damp soft cloth or tissue the contacts on the back & also the bottom of the cartridge.
3. Replace in printer & retry
4. If same message then remove the cartridge again & unplug the printer from the plug socket (Not just turning of the printer) leave off for 5 Minutes & then turn back on & retry.
5. If still no joy please return to <address removed>0 -

This is a really brilliant price one.
It IS an all in one but is designed to print photos as well as ordinary; very very easy set up and look at the price!!
