Argos won't change it. I saw someone in there on Saturday trying that very thing but without the box with the Argos code number on it, they don't want to know. They were willing to deal with it if the girl had a receipt or some proof of any kind that it was bought at Argos but the girl's argument was simply that they sold that kind of (whatever it was, I couldn't actually see the item) so she should be able to change it there. She was sent away and told to come back if and when she could prove she bought it there.

Under no circumstances can you ever condone lying and law breaking. I think the best idea is to contact the manufacturer direct. Even if they do not want to exchange it they may send a voucher or something that will allow you to get another one. Good luck, let us know how you get on.
