Does anyone know how to cancel the Equifax Credit Check Gold service online? I signed up for the 30 day free trial and want to cancel my membership before billing starts. but [surprise!] there's no indication how to do so on the Equifax website.
Thanks in advance.

Log in, and then go to the 'Contact Us' section when you are in the member bit. Then just send a message asking for it to be cancelled.
I think that's how I did it. Or ring up and ask for it to be cancelled.0 -
Thanks very much. Looks like the same rules apply to the Experian offer.0

The instructions are in the T&C's, which are on the application page and just above the box that you ticked to say you'd read and agreed to them...financialdunce wrote:...but [surprise!] there's no indication how to do so on the Equifax website. On the last day of your subscription, we will charge your credit card for the then-current price of the Subscription Product and it will be renewed unless you cancel within a thirty (30) day period by notifying us. You may notify us by first logging in to the MyEquifax Member Centre. Once logged in, click on the "Contact Us" button and you can contact the Equifax Customer Care team at the telephone number or email address listed on that page.0 -
I Have a bit of an issue with this - it is quite hard to cancel onsite, I emailed them, and they responded with instuctions to telephone and enter a series of numbers. apparantly, this is for "security reasons", hmmmm - the telephone number is 08700 - which i beleive is 8p a minute! Any tips of getting out of this - as looks like it might not be a freebie afterall!0

Sounds like a lot of effort !! is it worth the effort of signing up / cancelling and do you get all the info you want / expected ? or ist it better to send off £2 to each one for a credit report ? anyone done either or both ? how do they compare ? thanks

I believe it to be worth the effort. If you do sign up take note when you do of how to cancel, from what I remember the info is all there but sometimes hard to find later.

Hi, i think the free 30 day was worth it. i had no trouble emailing both equifax and credit expert. this is a copy&paste of credit expert's email to me confirming cancellation:-
"Thank you for your email, which we received on 18 January 2006.
I am sorry that you do not wish to continue with your membership of the CreditExpert Monitoring service. I can confirm that I have cancelled your membership as you have requested.
Kind regards
Miss Rebecca Castledine"
and equifax said
"This e-mail confirms your request to cancel your Equifax Credit Watch™
subscription.
Any Credit Reports you have pulled as part of your Equifax Credit Watch™
subscription will no longer be available for you to view online.
Additionally, Equifax Credit Watch™ will no longer be monitoring your
credit file for key changes to your credit report.
We regret that you have cancelled your service with us, but hope that we
will be able to serve you again soon.
Kind Regards
MyEquifax Customer Care Team."
