You good people out there, plese advise as to the best way to connect up to internet in Hong Kong...I am spending two months out there. The flat I am staying do not have connection to internet, just a phone line (I will be using my laptop). I do not wish to subscribe to local Isp and get tied down with a 12 month contract. As far as I know, they do not have pay as you go provider out there....be grateful of any advise. Thanks.

If your only there for 2 months and living in someones flat without internet connection, you are really stuffed. Being honest do you want the occasional emailing only? If so, hong kong has plenty of booths all around hong kong (like the bt phones with screens) which are free. Some of them you need to pay for.
As for having constant broadband, most or all of them have a 12 month tie to them.
So? Suggest you just bring your wireless laptop to a starbucks or so and pay for the wireless internet! Otherwise you will have to find a free internet enabled phone or wait at the end for a queue in the airport!
If you were staying longer, I would have advised getting the mega 100mb line compared to the rubbish 8mb max in london. Ha.
Anyway, internet which you pay for is really cheap! No matter which service you want! Even starbucks etc are cheap if you want the occasional coffee as well.Motto: 'If you don't ask, you don't get!!'
Remember to say thank you to people who help you out!
