Guitar Hero cheaper at Argos - any chance getting a refund difference from Asda?

Gutted - Guitar Hero is £69 at Asda and £49.99 at Argos. Guess where I bought it from

Already tried ringing the store and they claim they don't match printouts of prices. Are they just trying to push me off? Any sneaky ways to get the difference back?

How long ago did you buy it and do you have the receipt? You could always just return and say it was an unwanted gift and then buy it from Argos.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

  • I have the receipt but I've already used the item. I only bought it 3 days ago
  • Cool - just spoken to Asda Head Office. Whilst their website says they won't take back opened entertainment items the person at head office has assured me they will. And they've given me a case reference to give to the store if they give me difficulties :j

    Now - to Argos!
  • You have checked Argos have them in stock haven't you?
It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical

The slightly imooral approach would be to buy it from Argos and take that unopened one back to Asda for a refund with teh Asda receipt.

Asda deffo no longer price match
I emailed them and got this response ( it was about something else)
    Thanks for getting in touch.

Our current policy regarding admatch is as follows:

In the past if a customer brought in an advert from another company showing that they were selling a product cheaper we would match that price. We've now stopped this policy and don't admatch.

For a complete list of policies, please visit http://www.asda-corporate.com/policies.

If you need any extra help, please let us know.

    Kind Regards
