You can get 5% at Currys on hotukdeals site + 2% cashack at topcashback or try Quidco.0

Our desktop computer has a USB 1 connection as it's a few years old so would that work with a USB 2 like this Epson has?0

There you go atpug

It should work abeit slower at printing, but cant be 100%. It doesnt cost a lot for a pci usb2 card though less than a tenner and worth it. I rather get a better model like a Belkin for around £15 as I heard some of the cheap ones can be troublesome.
Looks like its out of stock though, looks a good deal to me.0 -
D'OH! The R220 is out of stock atm, know how long it usually takes Currys to get this back in stock? I've never ordered from them before. Never ordered anything like this online before!

I've found the compatible cartridges for £1 each
but there are also some good deals on Canon cartridges. Is Canon known as a good brand too? 0 -
I never bough Canon tbh I have always Bought Epson, I ahve 3 Epsons now, the last one was utter rubbish and my Epson 600 is about 10 yeras old and still going but very slow.
I never bought online from Currys/Dixons/pcworld group beofre either. Check the link I psoetd above there some other sites that are slightly more. I got my R300 in August 2004 from Ebuyer but came with a 2point plug, which was no good. Epson sent me a new plug free. SVP are a good outfit there listed on that link I gave above but there cots more and no disocunt at mo, not even free postage which helps. I get all my media from SVP, there one of the best online retailors out there.
Argos have the R300 whihc is the r200 with card reader in for £79

I heard the Canon IPX one is good but cant remember model number.0 -
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
It's still out of stock!!! Anywhere else I can get it at this price? The one with the memory card readers is far above what we need.0 -
Apparently according to PC World there is a 'national shortage' of these R220 Epsons.
There is one in Staples but for £10 more at £70.
Unless I can get a price match from non-online-exclusive offer I guess that's what I'm going to buy
If anyone knows somewhere I can get it cheaper for immediate/next day delivery, please let me know!!

OK I went to Staples as PC World, Currys, Comet, Dixons and Argos in Worcester are all out of stock of the Epson R220. I had to pay £10 more than the cheapest price and they didn't price match as it was out of stock.
Anyway, I now have the printer but they say that the warranty is invalid if I use anything but authentic Epson cartridges - I saw somewhere on a link that one of you gave that compatibles are available for £1 per colour!! But what's with the warranty being invalidated? The user manual says that other cartridges may cause 'erratic behaviour' of the printer and the warranty doesn't cover that either!!
Could someone say something reassuring please??

I bought the Epson BECAUSE of the cheap ink available.
