Do Scottish Power credit check you?

    I'm in an IVA (the step before bankruptcy) and switched to Scottish Power earlier this year. They can't have done a full credit check as I would have failed miserably, I have standard meters (not prepayment) and pay monthly by DD.

    Usually if you 'fail' a utility supplier credit risk assessment, then all they often do is ask for a deposit (typically about £300) which they return after about 12 months assuming you've paid their bills on time & in full.

    By agreeing to pay mointhly by DD, this often means they waive the requirement for any deposit (since they will be aware within a month rather than 3+ months of payment problems)

    Thanks for replies, reading Cardew's post as they say with Scottish Power it's based on 1143 KWH. So for now will give the click 6 plan ago.
