OneTel withdraw 99p E&W Call Offer.

OneTel have now withdrawn their 99p a month E&W call offer, and reverted the charge back to £3.99p. Which is a shame because it was good for cable customers.

Is this a sign of things to come now they are owned by TT?

  • Who's going to compete with TalkTalk now, seeing as they've bought their competition? I know of Toucan Telecom but that's the only other phone company I know about apart from Just Dial Saver and Onetel

Primus Saver do free E&W calls and hopefully will stay that way.
  • I got my E&W and free USA calls extended with Talk Talk till September 2006, so I'm ok for the next 9 months :D

Extended from the original 12 months? If so did you just phone and ask?

My TalkTalk option 1 free E&W runs out sometime in the next few days. The website says free weekend calls for life, but I think I lose both free evenings & weekends as part of the offer I took up. I'll have to check the documentation, but the sleeping cat I've got laid out on me is preventing me checking for now.
    Nice to save.

    Hi

Does this mean that if you are currently on that tarriff it will increase to 3.99 or does this mean you can no longer sign up to the 0.99 evening & weekend tarrif ? Just wondering as it doesnt say anything on their site and I havent received anything advising of a price increase

the mimimum TT will offer you is FREE weekend calls . But if you say you are leaving you usually get a better deal .If they say the free evening calls are not available on Talk1 ask for them on Talk2 .I did this last month and got them for another year .
I said " your competitors will give me free E&W calls "just haggle you have nothing to loose .Try to phone TT when they wont be busy ,if you get held in a queue you wont get anything .If they wont offer you anything phone back in a few days ,different operator different results .

Just what I'm wondering - surely they'd have to tell us?

    I'm emailing them to ask!

Its most unlikely they will increase your charges from 99p to 3.99p as you signed up under the 99p promo. However when Talk Talk amalgamate OneTel fully into the TT brand,i expect you might see some changes then.
