Lazy Plugs

Well, I don't know what make of TV you have, or how much power it uses, but it would be marginal to say the very least. Most modern TVs when in standby only use up enough power for their remote receiver anyway, so to put another remote receiver in before the TV to turn it off would just use up the same electricity.
If you plugged it in and plugged an extension lead into it then you could turn off your TV/video/dvd/etc all at once. But would probably have the hassle of setting timers etc.
It's a good idea for unreachable places though. Could also be an even better idea for making sure the kids dont stay up half the night watching TV etc

this might sound stupid but can you switch the plugs off by the remote seperately or when the button is pressed do all of the plugs switch off? if that makes any sense. i would be really grateful if anyone could help as i have one reserved but dont know if i want it if when it is pressed all of the plugs go off
thanx0 -
Each plug has a separate button on the remote so you can switch each one on and off independantly of each other0

I bought a set of 4 of these at Maplin before xmas grr much more expensive.
I notice the remote has two sides to each switch the right hand side labelled dimmer. Anyone seen any dimmer switch modules to go with it?

These will use very little power, I will check tomorrow, convenience is the real value. Still in stock Huddersfield, both Wakefield extras, and Leeds Crown Pt, to name but a few. Great value, and signal works through walls, so you can switch off/on when in another room.ac's lovechild0 -

Tried to send you a PM Poppycat, but not able to. Is your inbox full? There are still some of these in stock at one of my local stores, I would be more than happy to pick one up for you.0 -

Whoops pressed the thanks button instead of the quote, ne'er mind,
Poppy,I take it you are not near West Yorks then.
BTW these take slightly more power than I thought. 25mA which is 6 watts in the off position.ac's lovechild0 -
