I bought one of these and could not get on with it atall!!! -went back to using a knife. Infact it was the first thing I sold on Ebay!!!!!!! Funnily enough with the postage, the woman could have bought one from the shops for the price she paid for it - but I was not complaining.
Maybe I have a destructive chain-saw mentality!
I have just sliced up 2 joints of beef that I bought yesterday for £1.00 each, there are about 40+ slices weighing 1lb 12 oz all for £2.00!!!! this is how I mean to go on this year. Can't wait.0 -
I want one of those slicers!! I was lucky to get one thing that I wanted this year which was the Cadfael DVD's.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

I got a kenwood chef! :j Its all silver and sparkly!
No sausage makers in stock anywhere though so have to wait to try those. Made butter (see other thread) and its fab. I love it!!0 -
Leonie - what have you made with it so far? bread? I make sausages, have you got all your ingredients ready for when you get your sausage tubes?

I can't believe I'm reading this. If I bought my ex something for the kitchen for her birthday or xmas I would have been killed.

LOL - I chose this - it was all I wanted, I didn't need perfume or jewelery, I don't like someone else to choose my clothes....0 -
One thing I did buy for myself just before christmas was a V slicer. Can't remember where I got it from but I know it didn't cost me anywhere near what they are charging for it on tv, it's brilliant and I know that now I am losing the strength in my hands that I will be using this forever.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

X - the difference is that if, like AT, you really want it, it's OK.
IF, on the other hand, you get given a cheap wok by your OH because the old one in the kitchen is knackered, then you are looking at divorce papers0 -

Well I havent done a lot as we have been out visiting family for quite a few days, but i've made loads of pastry for quiches, mince pies etc and that was dead easy and I was happy with the results. Made some very nice naan bread, all the family enjoyed it. Yorkshire puddings were incredibly light done with the whisk attachment, oh and loads and loads of butter lol!
I dont have the mincing thingy either, hubby tried to get me the whole thing that minces the meat then makes the sausages but they arent in stock until end of Jan, so he bought me the food processor to keep me happy until then!
Xbigman, it was my choice to get the Kenwood. Im a food gadget type and as Apprentice Tycoon says, I like to buy my own clothes, and im not a jewellery type, it gets in the way when im building computers..... :-)0 -
I bought myself a waffle iron yesterday in Somerfield reduced fro 9.99.to 7.99 and they took anothr £3 off at the till. I wanted one for ages and made some as soon as I got home. Hubby is a convert to waffles and the kids couldn't eat them quick enough! If any of you have any good recipes or tips they would be much appreciated. I got one recipe with the machine but wondered how you all do them?
:snow_grin May peace and joy be your gifts this New Year :snow_grin0
