    GUYS......

this is way off topic and mud fighting. Its hardly moneysaving. The booklet that comes with the blue badge comes with the rules, and its up to the police/wardens/councils to apply it.

Surely when it comes down to it you are on the same side?

I'm afraid you should read her last paragraph because it does say most disabled badge users are passengers and the drivers have no real reason to use the bays and that they should just drop them off. So no, my son was not automatically excluded from that statement as he is indeed one of the 'most disabled badge users' by being a passenger.

No mention was made of anyone else - they were all grouped together in a blanket statement.

I would have thought that it would have been obvious it was about adults not in wheel chairs who are able to be left safely on there own for a short period of time. I can't believe anyone would read it anyway else

I was stating an option for drivers who are not blue badge holders and where complaining about the lack of disabled spots.

I have even been informed that I can't have a disabled parking space outside my house as I can stop as close to my house as possible and let my husband out. And then park else where.

I am now going to bow out now as it seems that people are reading something that is not there in to what I am writing and before I am accused of something,

    Yours

I thought about this thread this week. I got my blue badge finally, and I got challenged in a car park.

I was in an awful mood, as the traffic was heavier than I expected for that time of day, and I was in pain, but I remained calm, smiled and said 'I know, it's my badge but thank you for asking, I hate when people parked in disabled bays with no badge'. She looked a bit stunned and then smiled and got into her car.
Getting there... A deal at a time. :T
  • I have had it with people assuming i am parked in a disabled bay without a badge because i am young and have a toddler and baby!

So many times i have been approached, asked if im disabled..do i have a badge etc etc!

My ds is 3 years old and has cerebral palsy. Why are some people so ignorant??

I had one woman yelling at me only today that i should move into a mum and baby bay from her car window with her elderly mother next to her because i took the last disabled bay! she even had the cheek to ask to see my badge!!!!

    AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

sorry, rant over...im just so wound up!

I get looks and questions too because I am youngish and have non seen problems - it amazes me how judgemental and insensitive people are of others - when you want to shout trust me if you want my problems so you can park closer to the supermarket you are very welcome. I am very shy and hate any confrontation so if there is a normal space very close by I would sooner just use that.

You should've asked to see her badge ;)

You dont have to show you badge to any member of the public other than display it. You can if approached by a parking enforcement officer have to show it though
