    Cheers Zoe,

We looked at all the Disney hotels (at least the ones in our price range), and it's the 5 in a room that dictates the Davey Crockett, but we really enjoyed it last time.

As to driving, it's me all the way, which is ok, but takes a day or so to properly recover.

Flying is so tempting, and the kids will love it, but they also want to go on the 'night' boat.

Either way, it's a nice problem to have......'COS WE'RE OFF TO DISNEY:grin:, and that's the important bit (Should have said it's no adults and 5 kids really lol)

    Have you driven before?

When I drove I only had to drive there because our car gave up 5 miles from Disney and never recovered so we had a flight back courtesy of AA!

We went with my sister & brother-in-law and he drove back after being in the park all day and said he found it really bad and struggled to stay awake, they stopped to try & find a hotel for the night at Dover but couldn't get one, he said he wouldn't drive again unless they had stopovers and by the time you add it all up it's probably not much difference in price for the hassle to get a flight!

  • Delwyn, kids 9, 7, 5, and the DC cost is a touch over £500 for 6 nights, inclusive of park tickets.

5 day park hopper tickets are over £500, so I think I've got a really good deal

  • Zoe,

Yes drove before, and stayed with relations in Hastings. Have to say, going was just about OK, but that return journey was hell, and I am really against the Dover/Folkstone to Calais route.

The ferry from Hull is overnight, but means a 3 - 4 hour drive to Disney (probably closer to 4 - 5 hours), but it's only 2 - 3 hours from here to Hull.

I am getting closer, however, to going for the plane and getting a car...it would be nice to have a left hand drive car, and something a bit newer than our 8 year old Galaxy. It doesn't look like there's going to a lot different in cost, and the convenience is worth a lot.
  • Going March 8th back 15th, only very slightly flexible, maybe a day either side

Sounds good for 5 people for 6 nights.

I think you'd be best to fly if it's not way over budget, there's no point saving money if it's makes your holiday less enjoyable.

I have just looked at flights the cheapest airport to fly from to CDG would be luton with easy jet flights without bags are 264.00 total, Then obviously the ryanair to BVA, either way your going to have to hire a car to get to the DC ranch

  • Delwyn,

    Thanks for looking, much appreciated.

I think the Disney deal is right down to the bone, and always looked difficult to beat. As to the flying, John Lennon is close enough to get a lift off a friend, and as we want a car, it would be Bourvais.
