Hi all,
I'm looking to take the family (2 adult, 3 children 5, 7 and 9) to Disneyland Paris next March, and wondering if there are any tips on the cheapest way to get there.
So far...
Easyjet (Liverpool to CDG) are coming in at over £400
Ryanair (Liverpool to Beauvais), at about £250
They would mean car hire (scenic size) at about £300 for the week
Hull to Zeebrugge ferry £315...long drive and ???£150 in diesel, maybe more.
Dover to Calais ferry about £100....longer drive, more diesel
Eurotunnel....a touch more than the ferry, shorter crossing
Anyone got any thoughts....I don't fancy making them hitchhike, but most things considered

The Ryanair flight sounds like a good deal.
Check out the public transport between Beauvais and Disneyland, which is likely to cost a good deal less than a week's car hire.
You should also investigate trains (Virgin to London, then Eurostar).
The absolute cheapest would be coach (National Express and Eurolines) but the journey takes forever, and would be a pretty miserable experience.0 -
Hi Voyager
The need for the car is the hotel we're staying in is a short distance to the park, and although I'm investigating the local transport, I would also like the flexibility of the car.
I agree though, the ryanair flight looks pretty good.0 -
i have sent you a pm
Staying off site at disney tends to be a bit of a hassle to be honest unless the hotel is within distance of the local metro services that run into marne le valle (disney)
So have you already booked your accomodation and passes and just looking for transport to get there for certain dates?????I am a Travel Agent

OK, so you would need the car hire on top of the Easyjet flights (or train fare) as well, then? That was not clear from the way you presented the information.
I must say, it would be worth your while to find somewhere to stay with access to public transport. You would save money, and a lot of hassle.0 -
If you have Tesco vouchers you could use them for payment for a Eurotunnel fare?:rotfl:0

Sorry voyager I thought I'd made it clear.
The reason I put the car hire in after the flights was because I needed/wanted transport at the other end, and Eurotunnel is the car service to calais so no car hire needed.
Either way it's looking like it's going to be somewhere around the £500 mark.0 -
Delwyn,
Were staying at the Davey Crocket ranch. That way we get our Disney tickets, and we only need the one cabin (there's 5 of us and the Disney hotels only allow 4 per room). The ranch is 10 minutes away, hence the desire for a car.
The advantage of the ranch is that it's a lot cheaper than anything else I could find, and having stayed there before and finding it clean, tidy and perfect for our family, I have no problem going back again.0 -
We're going from LPL to CDG with Easyjet then probably getting the TGV from CDG into Disney.
If you're going in March it's still kids go free (I think it's 1 child to each adult), so would probably work out cheaper to stay in Disney, although I don't know which hotels take 5 in a room.
We're going in Januray, staying in Cheyenne for £358 for 3 nights, 4 days park tickets (but 1 less child).
Flights £252 (again 1 less child).
We have gone by coach twice and drove once (best if you can both drive to take it in turns or stop off at a hotel by Dover the night before).
Work out how much petrol would be (and a nights hotel if you do it that way), and decide if it's worth the extra for the flights to save the hassle of driving, if driving without a stopover you will be shattered by the time you get there and also on the last day you're in the park all day then having to drive back so would be best to have a hotel at Dover then aswell, which is adding to the cost.If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in

I took too long to post so hadn't read this!
We stayed at the Davy Crockett last time and we loved it aswell.
So you can either fly and pick a car hire up from the airport or drive all the way with or without a stopover! If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in

Cheers Zoe,
We looked at all the Disney hotels (at least the ones in our price range), and it's the 5 in a room that dictates the Davey Crockett, but we really enjoyed it last time.
As to driving, it's me all the way, which is ok, but takes a day or so to properly recover.
Flying is so tempting, and the kids will love it, but they also want to go on the 'night' boat.
Either way, it's a nice problem to have......'COS WE'RE OFF TO DISNEY
, and that's the important bit (Should have said it's no adults and 5 kids really lol) 0
