Contracted to BT - cancellation fee.

Hi,
I'm currently with BT but I have been offered a much better deal with Sky for a full package (HD, Multiroom, Phone and Broadband).
I have just got off the phone to BT to ask them for my MAC code and she was unable to give it to me as I am in a contract with them (I renewed in August). If I was to switch I would have to pay a cancellation for my Broadband in advance - almost £300.
I told her I want to switch as Sky are offering me huge saving and plus with one bill everything is easier. I asked if she could give me a better deal/match sky's offer and she said no as i'm already on a reduced rate.
Is there anyway I can get out of this contract without having to pay the cancellation fee ?
Thanks PP x

When you renewed in August, did you get a good deal? Unfortunately you will have started a new contract for either 12 or 18 months, so I hope that you did get a good deal as the contract terms stand! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

you can't get it both ways - they agree to give you a lower price, if you agree to stay longer - you want to break the contract to pay even less - BT have done nothing wrong, they held up their end of the deal
a contract is a contract, just wait another 9 or 15 months . . .0
