easymobile- it's cheap but is it any good?
Hi all,
I've finally bit the bullet, got my mobile network-unlocked and want to ditch orange payg.
Easymobile.com seems to be the cheapest on the market, at 5p for texts and 15p/min xnetwork anytime.
BUT, I've heard from a motorola employee that easymobile have poor reception and signal strength, even tho' they use the o2 network.
Does anyone have any experience of this?
cheers, surfcat

Easymobile have these charges, so you need to consider them:
Crediting your account via web 25p
Crediting your account via Customer Services 75p
The 75p charge covers our administration costs. You can also credit your account on our web site this will cost 25p.
Account blocking (negative balance) £5
easyMobile.com warns customers that their balance is close to zero. This warning is sent via email & text message when your account reaches £8, £4 & £0. easyMobile.com allows customers to have a negative balance, however if your account is negative for longer than 3 days, or if your balance goes below -£10, we will block your account & the £5 fee will be applied.
Minimum Usage
In the event that your usage is below £5.00 over a 3 month period (i.e. if your actual usage in the months April, May & June is £4.99 or less) we will apply a charge of 75p which is deducted from your account balance. This charge will be applied every month until your spend exceeds £5.00.
You may wish to consider Tesco Mobile instead. At the moment there's an offer on of £6.73 for a SIM, inclusive of £10 worth of calls. Here's a link:

If you use your mobile a bit you might consider 02 payg online.
You can opt for 100 inclusive x-net minutes or messages (including calls to 0844/0845/0870/07744 } if you top up by £10,and you still get the £10 to spend as well.If you dont top up by £10 every month you still get minutes etc next time you top up.PF.0 -
Check out Tesco Mobile.
They have two tarrifs:
1. Tesco Tarrif, all calls 20p per min, register 3 numbers and only pay 10p per min, buy a call 25 or call 50 bundle and only pay 10p per min for length of 30 day bundle, can be used to call/roam abroad too, texts 10p each
2. Value Tarrif, all calls 15p per min, texts 5p each

Easymobile definately _do not_ use the O2 network. They use T-Mobile which for some people provides less than satisfactory coverage.
Suggest that you look at either of the two Tesco SIM's, depending on your calling needs. They definately _do_ use the O2 network.
Hope that helps.

anyone signed up with easyMobile via Quidco lately? I signed up in December '05 and paid £10 to get a sim-card and £15 worth of credit plus an additional £5 through the refer-a-friend scheme.
Currently, my quidco account states that I'm being tracked for £0.00 on the quidco transaction. Shouldn't I get £10 from quidco? or do i have to top up credit on top of my initial £10 investment to qualify?? any help would be much appreciated!0 -
"Quidco is able to function as a cooperative by keeping back £5 from your first yearly payout"

but i've already paid up for that £5 "subscription fee"...and i can't email them to check anything cos they're in the process of upgrading their systems =(
any other suggestions?0
