Looking for decent broadband in new flat

I've just moved into my flat and is looking to get broadband connected.
Not fussed about using the phone, but would like unlimited downloads.
I might be at the flat for 6 months only, so would like to have option to carry broadband to new address at some point in future.
Looking around my cheapest option atm looks to be BT line rental £10.50 month and to get o2- I notice that quidco are doing a cashback offer too!
However i've got an o2 phone through my work-so it's a business tarrif-I contacted o2 over the phone and was told I could not use that to get their discount of £7.50- this is because it's not my personal one- However when I went to my local o2 shop was told it dont' matter what type as long as I got a valid o2 number and it's being used. I'm not sure whose correct now?
Can anyone shed some light on this? Also is there a better offer out there that provides decent service before i take this route?

How about Sky if available in your flat?0

How does the quidco compare to the £7.50 O2 discount? If the shop is saying the number gets you the discount consider signing up in the shop, then they should confirm the discount before you sign. Well If I signed up via quidco providing my work phone allows me as an o2 customer I'll get it for about £2.50 a month. Without it then it's £12.50 but with quidco cashback it affectively makes that £7.50.
I can get sky at my place- Last time I checked there weren't any offers out there. I'll check again.0 -
Are you looking for quality of service or the cheapest you can get?
If the former then you would be better looking at one of the Entanet resellers and the beauty of those is that you sign up on a 1 month rolling contract so you can cancel at any time. The service and speed etc is second to none with very generous up/download allowances and they don't use traffic shaping or throttle your connection

This is very typical of the speeds I consistently get with Entanet

You'll be hard pushed to beat that with anyone else on a normal 8Mb connection
