Hi Saveapenny, travelman and everyone else that devote their time helping others.

I usually like to book my holidays direct but am having difficulty finding anything cheaper for my specific requirements.

Flying from Manchester to Antigua on Friday 26 May 2006 leaving on Friday 9 June with BMI for 2 Adults, 2 Children (both aged 7 years old) and staying All Inclusive at the Jolly Beach Resort in a superior room.

The best deal so far is with Virgin Holidays and the breakdown is as follows:

    2 adults @ £1289 = £2578
    1st child @ £269
    2nd child @ £280
    Superior room supplement £700
    3 x flight supp. £180

    Total £4007

Additional info: Virgin said that the Superior Room was fully booked and that they would have to request an additional room. I have e-mailed the Jolly Beach and they have offered me a superior room at US$190 per adult & US$49 per child per day. Which works out at US$6692 or approx. £3884. (This does not include the flight or transfers!!)

Expedia have quoted £6122.48 all in and someone else has quoted £5022.74.

    Any help/advice much appreciated.

    regards

    gobbyash

Air Miles have quoted me £250 less than the Virgin Price and at £3757 seems good value for money.

Was just looking at a summer holiday with Thomson - total price came to £2911 with a £520 deposit required... Checked exactly the same deal on Portland direct, with the same options and was quoted £2788 with a deposit required of £104! Any reason for that?

Is there any way of getting a Thomson holiday without the flights? Timings are dreadful and I could get BA cheaper...

I am looking for a 7 night holiday starting saturday or sunday 18/19th Febraury departing Glasgow or Edinburgh. Probably count as two adults as one adult one 13 year old. Would prefer half board and a min. of three star accomodation. Somewhere warm, but reasonably safe as just myself and daughter. Would consider somewhere that is not especially hot, but has plenty to do such as Benidorm.

Try doing a DIY package. If you can find flights cheaper then you might be able to get hotel cheaper.
If you list all details(How many people, where you want to go and from which airport,7 or 14 nights, what board basis etc)i will take a look for you.

Sloppychops - hotel is the Atlantica Aegean Blue in Rhodes - four people (2 kids) in a sea view family suite, AI basis. Arriving 8th July, for either 7, 10 or 14 nights (10 would be ideal!)

Would be interesting to see what you could come up with...

This looks ideal sloppychops. When I looked up reviews via google (which were generally fine), I also came across booking sites. The actual cost for the full board accomodation for the two weeks for the two of us was £238. I wondred if there are any cheap flights and (with transfers) would there be a cheaper way of doing this?
