Slimline PS2s Back in Stock!

What I need to find is the OLD style PS2 to replace the one that was stolen from my mate a few weeks ago.  Any ideas anyone?

Try contacting playstation direct for one of them, they don't look as nice but they sure as hell ae built better ::)

I would agree that they look less flimsy - particularly when you compare the lid where you put DVD in. I read some stuff somewhere (apologies for not remembering where - mag or online) that one of the reasons they changed it is because not only was it noisy but the sturdy lid design actually caused the unit that spins the DVD to burn out quicker. The new unit has a lighter lid and it is said to cause this problem less. Of course at the end of the day it is down to the consumer to decide if they like it or not and I make no scientific claims or otherwise as to the relative merits of them.

Yep they made it this way as the old ones displayed disk error all the time, usually there was dust inside and it couldn't be cleaned easily so by having it this way it should avoid the problem. They don't look bad, they look much nicer especially when on its stand (available from amazon) but the build quality isn't so good. Still its a great machine ;D
And is it me or should Boots have sold out ???

Yep, because they can't deliver until the 6th of Jan they are still in stock so they should be easy to get hold of, hope all the people who got loads for ebay make a huge loss ;D

Don't believe it - I ordered one from there and had my order cancelled, but they kept the funds earmarked in my account for nearly 2 weeks - so be careful! I have reported them to Watchdog - see the hamper thread.
