If you want to look at what is wrong with society have a look how you react to these people. Any sypathy, compassion?
Yes, much sympathy and compassion. I thought that was inherent in what I was saying and explicit words weren't needed. I am actually quite offended by your remark, as it doesn't reflect my views at all.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I think we all agree is horrifying, but there is a place of 'gallows humour' esp. with the deadpan comment from the copper.0

I think the emergency services get hardened to this sort of thing or somehow blank it off.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
If I was going to kill myself I would get some piano wire and make a noose.
Then I would superglue my hands to my head. Then jump off a building with noose around my neck.
To the person who found me it would look like I pulled off my own head.Savings

Lack of people to turn to and a bunch of idiots who love to rub salt in their wounds.
I think what drives you to suicied and muder your own family is more than getting "upset".
Do your views compound what is wrong with society yes as you don't care:rolleyes:
Rant over suicied and murder are not things to celebrate so grow up some of you.
I don't think there's anything wrong with GDB's reaction, or mine. There is nothing in our posts that suggests we 'don't care.' We are, rather, struggling to understand situations like this. Like GDB, I think you have misread our intentions and the posts, though I agree that the thread title was inappropriate, hence my gentle correction of the 'facts.'0 -

Sorry I did not read it that way so i appologise.:o
PS but going over it you still do come across a bit un-sympathetic, perhaps if you re-read it you may see that also.

I think its part of human nature to find humour in an otherwise unfathomable situation.

...seems to put it quite well, trying to break down the psychological version for the layman.

makes the important point about environment. I guess with the internet "everything" is open to being found, so should that mean we write nothing...because you can't please all the people all the time??
Should we stop writing about house prices, because of the poor across the world who can never consider owning a house or even having a roof, and they would consider us arrogant beyond words, if only they had an internet connection to find these threads and become upset...?
I don't know the right answer...0 -

"Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you walk into an open sewer and die"
Slightly off topic - I was surprised to hear that 'vulnerable old grandfather, victim of comedic abuse' Andrew Sachs has recently announced his new role in Coronation Street. Hmmm...0 -
