I withdrew an amount on Monday and it said it would 3 days or something to be cleared into my bank......have just checked paypal and its sayingn 'completed'. Checked my bank this morning and it wasnt showing up??? Will check again tomorrow.'Normal' is a dryer setting.0

does this apply to paying for items online or for withdrawals to bank accounts - anyone know ?
For those of us that are affected (and I realise a lot of people are still able to use their accounts as normal) it applies to everything that requires you to login - so, paying for items online, sending funds to another email address, and withdrawing funds to bank.
It appears that, in the background, the account is still functioning normally, so my account has been merrily accepting payments for all my ebay items sold last week - the problem is, I have no way to get at the money.0 -
I wonder if this has been made aware to ebayer (the ones that don't come on here)? I mean some people use it as their only means of an income plus its gonna cause major feedback problems when people can't afford to dispatch the item because they acn't withdraw what they've made. I was goning to do an ebay for a extra couple of quid for xmas not sure how I'm gonna make it up if i do not have access.
keep us updated guys on whether you successfully manage to get your money.
good luck0 -
I paid for a new monitor I bought from Ebay a couple of days ago and for all I know its being sent to me by the seller - but if as you say it all appears normal than the same would be true for his Paypal account and he will be sending it (havnt heard otherwise )
but what is real ? - if it shows gone on my account and has received on his - then thats all that happens anyway - its just numbers on a screen if you cant withdraw it ,is it just "virtual money !?"0 -
I did manage to get in contact with someone with paypal to get my funds transferred to my bank account - well they told me they have transferred - i do know this can take up to 5 days. I will keep checking my account to see if the funds have been lodged.0

Hi removed:
Thanks for your time earlier and for sending me this information.
As mentioned on our phone call, we now have a good handle on the issue you are describing and I expect to have it fixed on our site Friday morning your time.
I will email you once it is (and attempt to reach you on your mobile depending on the time of the day in the UK).
Thank you for your patience.
Nick.

Hopefull this will fix it - but I doubt not. However, you seem to have made the most progress of us all. I finally gave up today calling their customer service help line - totally inept people on the other end of the phone.
Let us know if they have remedied your paypal problem.0 -
Encouraged by posts on this site and others that it IS in fact possible for Paypal to transfer funds to my bank account or to a new Paypal account I have just set up, I contacted them tonight.
The first person told me that the problem would definitely be resolved by tomorrow afternoon, and that there was no way my funds could be transferred.
Her supervisor told me that they did not know when the problem would be solved. He said there was no way to do a bank transfer, but when pressed offered to do a transfer at a cost of 40 USD. He promised to refer my request for Paypal to bear that cost to the relevant department, but would not agree there and then.
When I asked about transferring to my new, second, Paypal account, he asked me to send ID details and copies of bank statements by fax - which I did.
Am not holding my breath in expectation of the funds being transferred - but I'll let you know how I get on.0 -

Maximum of £500
I like paypal but you are braver than me, as soon as I get to £50 I withdraw it, even if it means I do more than one withdrawal a day.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
