they......they have done this to their own people in their own country..history shows us what fascists are capable of doing..belson ring a bell and then for decades until it became law THEY denied it ever happened.. oh what fun it would be if they ever got power
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

So why are they concerned that the list has been published. They are a political party, so why are they embarrassed? Shouldn't they be proudly spreading their message?

Because people have a right to not have their names, addresses, home phone numbers, children's details, and so on published. In any case the data are not the message.

We also just about still have the right to peacefully hold political beliefs IN PRIVATE (although you can be locked up now for expressing them)

And also because you could be hounded out of your job and left destitute, attacked or murdered as a result.

    To wit:

BNP ballerina defies rising clamour to sack her

    · I know I'm right, dancer named by Guardian says

Yep, those oh-so-tolerant lefties at The Guardian decided to attempt to destroy a ballet dancer's career because of her privately held views.

    More:

Appeal judges have reserved a ruling over whether transport operator Serco was right to dismiss a BNP councillor as a health and safety risk.

His bosses said he, or the vehicles he was using, might be attacked, risking injury to the disabled people being transported.

A DJ at radio station Talksport has been sacked for being on the BNP members list that was leaked online.

Theatre ditches BNP volunteer drama teacher

A Kent drama teacher has been ousted from her job following revelations that she has worked as a volunteer for the British National Party.
Emma Chamberlain, drama co-ordinator for the Astor Theatre in Deal near Dover, has been informed by the venue that her contract will not be renewed. The move comes shortly after local press reports showed Chamberlain fronting the political party’s online television service BNPtv and interviewing leading party members including Mark Collett, the former chairman of the BNP’s youth wing.
The organisation’s decision to remove Chamberlain from her position comes despite insistences from management at the venue that her political beliefs had not affected her work and widespread praise for the level of results she has achieved. The theatre’s website reports a 100% pass rate in London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art accredited examinations for children in her classes, which involve youngsters aged up to 14

A male police officer in Merseyside is the first alleged BNP member to face consequences at his job after the far-right party's full membership list was leaked online.
Police called in independent investigators today after the officer's name, occupation and contact details were listed among more than 12,000 BNP supporters on an internet blog posted on Sunday night.

Every police force in the UK was tonight scouring the leaked British National party membership list for names of serving officers, after the Merseyside force confirmed it was investigating one officer's links to the far-right party.
The Prison Service pledged to oust any employee on the list and far-right supporters spoke of fear for their livelihoods as the BNP was plunged into crisis.

Scotland Yard, Surrey and West Yorkshire police also confirmed that they were studying the list, and the Association of Chief Police Officers said it expected every other force to follow suit.

A detective inspector serving in the professional standards department of a Midlands force, who was checking the list against his force personnel records, said: "Even people on the list who are lapsed members of the BNP, or who have just approached the party expressing an interest in joining, will be of interest to us."

THE president of the Royal Institute of British Architects called for members of professional organisations to declare their formal political interests yesterday after a candidate to succeed him was exposed as a member of the British National Party.

    ---
Firefighters who belong to the British National Party will be sacked - because brigade chiefs fear they might racially discriminate in a life or death blaze.

Gloucestershire Fire Service is the first in the UK to say it will ban BNP members from joining and Anyone suspected of belonging to the BNP will be quizzed by brigade officials and sacked if they are found to be a signed-up member.

A shop worker, who was sacked by a DIY store after he stood as a candidate for the British National Party (BNP), has reached an undisclosed settlement with the store.

So er, remind me again why you wouldn't mind people knowing?
  • I think some of them were joking anyway...

I echo what someone else said; I am not pro-BNP but I am pro-freedom of speech and as long as it's not illegal, let it go. And I also agree with whoever said I'd be more concerned with terrorists, smackheads and paedos living near me than someone who just upholds certain personal views.

So if anyone loses their jobs for breaching their terms and conditions [which forbids membership of BNP], will their mortgage protection insurance payout?
