HPC if there's a BNP member in your street?

I went to university with a pretty senior BNP chap. Clueless idiot that he was but a couple of points:
1. If you ban people from holding certain jobs for being a member of the BNP then what next? What about if they ban libertarians (like me)? Or Socialists? Or Jews?
2. With groups like the BNP, my experience is that it's better to let them condemn themsleves with their own mouths. They talk rubbish and pretty much everyone knows it. They've never had seat in Parliament and they find it tough to hold council seats I believe because as soon as they get in they are shown to be full of poo.0 -
BNP and impact on property...? Well, as someone married to a (lax) Jew I don't think it would change our opinion about where we bought, even if the nighbour was BNP. If they were prepared to practise anti-Semitism in extreme action, for example with physical force, well, we have laws to protect us from that. Conflicting opinion alone is not enough to make me fearful or feel hatred towards neighbours, after all we have significant political differences within our family too, in fact even within my own head!
All that said I think I would feel uncomfortable if ALL my neighbours were BNP, not because I don't think people are entitled to opinions, they are, but because I think it would eventually grind one down and be uncomfortable for visitors too. I am however uncomfortable when people with what are in my opinion, rather daft views, are not allowed to freely express them. IN my opinion, this rather supports their view that their rights are not as strongly supported as those they feel vitriol towards. The uncomfortable truth is a lot of people feel a certain bias against immigration, whther its zenophobia or, to coin a phrase, 'living space' that concerns them, (I don't think that lack of 'concern' is why UKIP failed, personally) and a worying situation is where people who might not be 'bigoted' feel pushed into becoming so, by feeling that the BNP might be the only people who will address that particuar concern.

Ha, ha, ha!!!!
Oh my - if I didn't have such a violent dislike to the "rolling around on the floor, laughing until I soil my breeches" emoticon, this reply would consist mainly of that.
Here's something for you to think about - for all the media coverage of BNP gains in elections that you see, how many BNP MPs are there?
None.
The Liberal Democrats are generally accepted as not in any real position to take over power in the UK - and they regularly pull 5-10% of the seats (NB seats, not just votes) in General Elections. Think about it.
If you want to take it down to Council level, you may know that the Liberal Democrats - to reiterate, a party very few take seriously as an alternative government - have more councillors than the BNP.
But did you know that the Greens have more council seats nationwide than the BNP, by a large margin? Yes, that bunch of "smelly, tree-hugging students, renta-mob scroungers and hippies" have more support in terms of council seats than the BNP.
Going further, you can look and see that Independent candidates and unafilliated campaigners have more representation in councils across the country than do the BNP.
Statistically speaking - that crazy guy who's always in the council offices complaining about dog poo up the park has more chance of getting into a position of power on the council than a BNP member does.
Make a note of this fact (it's verifiable from national statistics) and share it as often as you can. I like to bring it up when people try to tell me "how much national support" the BNP have.
Now try and convince me to take them seriously as an electoral force.Oh come on, don't be silly.
It's the internet - it's not real!0 -

The BNP are in no position to complain about this whatsoever, they have been publishing the names of pinkos, lefties, kikes, fags etc.,( in fact the list is so extensive it stretches to anyone who is not a BNP member) for years."An arrogant and self-righteous Guardian reading tvv@t".

He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.

Irving sued for libel here. He was described as a holocaust denier, and anti-semitic, and sued the author (Deborah Lipstadt) and publisher (Penguin). He lost. The book was called Denying the Holocaust.
Irving said once that, Auschwitz was "a labour camp with an unfortunately high death rate".
Actually Nick Griffin was convicted of holocaust denial in this country - even though it's not officially a crime. They got him on 'incitement to racial hatred'.
Quite why people shouldn't be allowed to have stupid views is beyond me, but Britain is ever more intolerant of anybody who doesn't follow a strict PC BBC-style worldview.0 -
holocaust denial is extreme anti-semitism, more than a 'stupid view' surely ?."An arrogant and self-righteous Guardian reading tvv@t".
