Does he realise the consequences? No chance of credit, only a basic bank account?
Well he only has a basic bank account the now anyway
  • yes, but a CIFAS flag would really mess things up for possibly 6 years - no chance to even build a credit file! How does he know what his situation might be in a couple of years - he might be looking to get a mortgage and for the sake of lying now could mess things up then.

    Whats a CCJ?
  • County Court Judgement. Stays on the file for 6 years. Very little chance of getting credit with one and the only mortgages are sub prime high interest ones. A default is almost as bad.

  • I think you need to put thoughts moving out on hold until you have paid off your debts and your BF has a full time job. The cost of Council Tax, Elec, Gas, Water Rates etc is ridiculous let alone saving up a deposit and the normal couple of months rent that a place wants. Get yourself into a good position and then think about it seriously. They might do a credit check but I've got really bad credit and still passed their tests!! I don't have CCJ's though!
