Early years Nursery funding

Is there chance of you changing your working hours in the future to do 1-5pm?, then you would benefit from the free early eductaion sessions more. I know you must be bitter about it, and to be honest i think I would be too but at least as others have said he is entitled to the sessions and will still get his early years sessions, just unfortunately it doesnt help youout much work wise. It's always a tough one juggling working and paying out childcare!DFW no.630!

Could your son not start his nursery session at 1pm to get his funded sessions, therfore maybe giving you the opportunity to up your working hours, but at no extra cost?
At the moment he only goes two days a week so I could do that on those days. He still has a nap at the moment though from 12 onwards so I'm going to wait until he's dropping that. Then obviously I will try and get some extra hours those days.
I know I'm not the only one in this position...just never realised juggling work and childcare would be so difficult lol! :rotfl:

personally i would change my working hours, and make full use of nursery funding, tax credits and childcare vouchers
i dont know how old your parents are, but the fact they are prepared to pay for your child to go to nursery so they can have 'a break' to me means, they are finding it hard looking after your child, and they only have him for a few hours a day, so that say alot
as soon as my parents and inlaws started asking about when my child could start playschool, i took this as a hint for me to find childcare elsewhere, as they just werent up to it anymore. Financially, im not noticeably worse off, and it also means the grandparents 'want' to see the children, so now i get inundated with offers of babysitting, so me and OH get more 'us' time, which has done wonders for our family life all round. espec as like you, we were ships passing in the night prior to this, due to our working hours
Yes, i know the early years nursery vouchers are for your childs benefit, but if they mean you can work, and take home more of your pay a month, then its good news all round
