I also wondered, did anyone send any ID with their application, I'm sure it didn't ask for any, which is unusual?
KRBS (in common with some other financial institutions - A&L for one) electronically verify you if they can. That means that if you come up matching on electoral roll and credit referencing sites, they don't need to get you to prove who you are.

All financial institutions SHOULD do it this way, if they can - it's far more convincing evidence of your name and address than some dodgy documents which a fraudster could have knocked up in his garage. ;)

Has anyone who applied for this received their KRBS 6% bond certificate yet?

I sent my application off on 24/11 and my cheque cleared Monday 1/12 but have not received letter of acknowledgement or certificate.

Just got mine today. I think I sent mine off a little before that, so you should be receiving yours shortly, I'd imagine. :)

I got my certificate on Friday 5th December. Having sent my application off on the 18th November. So be patient - they would of had a lot of applications for the bond before it was withdrawn.
Had £80,000 in Savings - All GONE!!! BYE BYE

I take it this is a one-off deposit bond i.e. you can't add further funds. Please could someone verify this as I can't seem to find any info on it. Thanks. I have one open with a zero balance and have been told I can BACS transfer to it.

You can't deposit more money into the KR fixed bond after the original deposit.

Sent mine on the 25/11 - cheque cleared 2/12 - still waiting to hear. I rang up last Friday (5/12), and there was a recorded message saying that welcome packs were still being sent out.
  • When I spoke to them on the phone today they told me that there is still a backlog of welcome packs to send out.

If your cheque has cleared, there isn't anything to worry about - they've obviously received the money.

And they have,in individual cases, told some customers that they can open the account and then send the money to follow by BACS. But this only applies if you asked up-front to do that, because - for example - you had to give notice to another bank or building society.
