I doubt it will stop people from buying from one of these because the pups will be much cheaper then ones from proper breeders. I hope it does, but even if it helps one dog it's worth it. It will be very upsetting though trust me, i've been to a few doing work for the rescue I foster for.

Really? - some seem to charge quite a lot - which probably helps create the illusion that they are selling 'quality' animals!

As discussed in a recent thread I think it is quite hard for a layman to know whether pups are from a puppy farm, well bred or whatever - especailly when KC registered show winners can be bred from sick animals.

Pink-Lint - it looks like its on BBC north east too I think -

When you see what a puppy farm looks like you will instantly know it's a puppy farm. They are filthy places, the animals are dirty and many have fleas and mange, anyone who buys a pup from a place like this deserve all they get with the problems these pups will have. A lot of puppy farms charge less for their "pedigree" dogs then proper breeders. You wait until you watch this horror guys, it will make you weep before you even get shown inside.

Yeah, in my experience they dont exactly invite buyers in for a look around, and do create an impression of being responsible breeders - its like all sales, present whatever image that is most likely to sell your goods. Anyway, perhaos this programme will be informative.

We bought our first puppy from a farm...because we felt sorry for her. She had fleas, was underweight, and completely skitzy. She died age 3 of health problems. All our dogs since have been rescues - I wouldn't look at breeders because I know I'll have to bring them all home.
