Internet without phone line?

Is there an viable options available to me for internet without a phone line?

I am a heavy internet user with lots of downloading etc so a dongle is not really viable.

Any Ideas?

lots of downloading = decent wired(or cabled) isp
virgin media cable may be able to supply wires only, if available in your area

There is such a thing as satellite internet, but I think it's really expensive and aimed at companies rather than individuals.

You can buy internet sticks through some companies. Orange and vodafone do off the top of my head. You can have monthly contract or payg.

satellite downlink (fast), phone uplink(slow), line or mobile required

yeah I have virgin broadband and no land line, costs me £11 a month and I got about £50 back from quidco when I signed up - dot know if thre is any quidco on it now.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO not VIRGIN BLOODY MEDIA again. I dont think I can handle it the amount of times I have cursed them, I'd rather get a phone line!
