Can anyone recommend anti-virus software?
So is there any software out there that prevents viruses/spyware guaranteed?
Thanks in advance.:D

The best anti-spyware/anti-virus is your brain. Think about what you're doing and avoid dodgy sites.
Getting off my high horse Eset is very hoghly regarded and not particularly expensive. Other than that there are the usual free alternatives.
AntiVir
AVG
Spybot S&D
AdAware
Super Anti-Spyware
MalwareBytes
If you want a free firewall there's Zone Alarm and Sunbelt (Kerio)It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
You missed AVAST Bill:idea:0

Based on my experience, I would recommend ESET NOD32 if you want to pay, and steer well clear of Norton (although the latest version is getting better reviews). But, as mentioned above, being careful and sensible is as important, i.e. not opening e-mails with attachments from people that you don't know, not clicking on links in e-mails.0

The latest version of Norton has good ratings in PC mags, however, we will be using F-Secure when Norton expires. A friend of mine attended a seminar by them and they use F-Secure all the time.
Of course, you still need to watch what sites you visit, and be careful what you click on. No Internet Security software is 100% though.
Click here and if you click on buy now, but then go back on your browser, you get an offer up which may be of interest. My suggestion and/or advice is my own and it is up to you if you follow it, please check the advice given before acting on it.0 -
Thanks, I believe the latest problem we've had has come from Facebook. I am careful about what I click on but there are other users in the house on the same PC.
Will look into F-secure and ESET, didn't know about Norton always thought that was a good one.0 -
Norton is still good, and the latest version got a really good review in PC Answers magazine. Was advised about F-Secure from this friend, but it is has he says, it depends what you go on and what is clicked etc.My suggestion and/or advice is my own and it is up to you if you follow it, please check the advice given before acting on it.0

I vote ESET:idea:0

I prefer Avast. Has picked up anything so far. It performs better than Norton and McAffee in most group tests, and it's free.
It also uses up less PC resources.Student Moneysaving Expert :beer:0 -
