But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D
Today I will:
- check online banking
- make a loaf in breadmaker
- swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
- storecupboard meals
- not use car
- try and have a no spend day
- more decluttering to charity shop
Hope you all have a good day at work , or home. Fay - make sure .DS has his packed lunch this morning:rotfl:
Will catch up with you all later - have an office to sort out this morning:rolleyes:

Good morning sophiesmum, anyone who's beaten me and anyone yet to appear
Lovely sunny morning here in Sheffield so I'm currently getting blinded at my computer.
Last night/this morning I have:
* Found some stuff for my dear other half to ebay for me.
* Brought mp3 player into work to charge.
* Storecupboard tea last night and storecupboard dinner today.
* Hopefully have a NSD same as yesterday (can't see me needing to buy anything today).
* Checked internet banking. Woo my wages have appeared.
Today I will:
* Get round to phoning ISA people. Couldn't be bothered yesterday!
* Do some more washing.
* Start packing for my long weekend away in that London
* Make a shopping list so I can get some food supplies tomorrow so we aren't paying corner shop prices when we're down there.
Hope everyone has a good day!0 -

Hi Everyone
Looks like everyone has lots of productive things to do.
I'm feeling poorly today so haven't gone to work! What's really ridiculous is that I still feel I need to be doing something in between sleeps!
Today I will:- stay in bed - it's warmer than having the heating on.
- a load of washing to dry on the airer.
- clear some of the papers in my 'reading' pile.
- Fill out the form the solicitor sent so I can get my Will sorted.
- Check banking and update spreadsheet accordingly.

Morning All :hello:
Ridiculously busy at the mo', I got onto this thread yesterday, half composed a post - and then had to run. Bloomin' work, keeps interrupting my MSE
So today (already been interrupted on composing this, so I better get a move on) I have/will- paid off a credit card bill for OH's car repairs :mad: but will have earned £50 in John Lewis vouchers for using this card
:beer: Registering the card on-line took SOOOO long that I didn't make myself lunch this morning
- charge phone at work
- supper is defrosting, but must think of a DFW way to have lunch....
- My cheap social life continues - 20p at rehearsal tonight
but with a performance in a couple of weeks my diary is frighteningly full.
- Not really DFW, but life enhancing (:o ) our new shed arrives tomorrow and I'm hoping to get LOTS organised, when I've managed to assemble it (with the help of DS2) I did go through Quidco to buy it and shopped around a lot, saving £100.
- Off to the gym tonight before rehearsal - and will use their shower gel, shampoo & conditioner.

I sent off my vouchers yesterday evening for the mp3 player out The Sun (using coupons collected by rescuing the paper from the recycling pile at work!);
Did actually buy the Sun today to get a free lunch from Baguette Express and a can of Relentless from Tesco;
Paid my Sainsburys credit card this morning;
Cancelling the entertainment pack on my BT Vision service (it was free for the first 6 months and I'm in month 7);
Writing to Egg to reclaim PPI;
Sending off the second letter to Natwest over £418 worth of bank charges.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Morning all:hello:
Disaster!!! Making my lunch early this morning (6:30:eek:) the large, and I repeat the word large, packet of cous cous toppled over throwing it's contents over most of the kitchen. The wretched stuff is impossible to clear up with a dustpan and brush and as for using a damp cloth - don't..... I have cous cous in the corners, cous cous on the hob and cous cous in my slippers....
... and .... I had to spend 30p to spend a penny at the station, wasn't sure I could make it to work"30p" screeches Piquant in her best Victor Meldrew voice....
Hope all of you who feel unwell, get better soon!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
Total debt today: £0 - debt and mortgage free 29th November 2013 :T
