tesco mobile roaming in usa with no credit

just wondeed if anyone can answer this. My girlfriend lives in the usa, ive always used smsbug to text her to keep my costs down, but i couldnt get it to work on her usa t mobile phone, she gets charged for sending and receiving texts so i had the bright idea of giving her a tesco mobile payg phone with no credit on it, just for me to send texts to, this effectivley cuts her text bill in half. I was just wondering how long the phone will roam on a usa network without putting credit on it? will they cut it off eventualy or will it always work?

  • Ususally the card, so long as its being used, will register as a used card. Therefore it should last indefinately, if there was no use at all, the number lasts about 6 months, if I remember rightly, before going into limbo, and a further 6 months before the number is released to accommodate a new number slot. Try it out, if it doesnt work in half a year, send her a new card!
