Went into the two Game shops in the Trafford centre yesterday to pick up an xbox 360 pad and in the 360 section they have all the packaging for the items for sale but upon waiting in line then getting to the till I was told they had no stock.
Why do these shops insist on placing the packagin on the shelves in they have no stock as it is just going to infuriate customers or why not put a sign up in that section to say that there is no stock of accessories.

Agreed, very annoying.0

In some cases the packaging on the shelves is just that .. special boxes produced for displaying on shelves (to stop people nicking the actual product).

Yes, but the problem is them not putting signs up to say they're not available.0

They were the actual packaging the pads/leads/faceplates are sold in and there was someone else in the store buying quite a few accesories then when he was in line a member of satff came over and i presume he told him they were out of stock. A simple sign by the goods would satisfy people as if you have to stand in line to be told when you get to the counter they are out of stock some people are going to give the staff abuse.
I did get 3 games which cost me £140 and got a measly £5 on my reward card for spending that much which I dont think is a reward and will be sticking to https://www.play.com as the games are between £5 and £10 cheaper than the high street and other internet shops0 -
They put the boxes on display to tell you the Xbox 360 is comming soon so you enquire and order one.
Its just for display and when the new system comes out it will have been pre-ordered by people for ages.
They will have just left the display boxes up becosue the 360 is still brand new, its been that way for over twenty years for all the hard core gamers.I'm not poor i'm just skint0 -

They had no console boxes out just all the boxes for the accesories so why not put a simple sign up saying out of stock rather than getting people into the store and wait in line to buy something that is not even in stock. I find it hard to believe that Game cannot source any pads as the system has been out for nearly 1 month
Their reward card stinks also as I spend £140 on three xbox 360 games and get a lowsy £5 "reward" to be spent in the shop which is a joke for spending that much and considering that places like ply.com offer games between £5 and £10 cheaper I will be using them for all future games.0 -
Woolworths do the same, and no damn prices. Gets my goat.0
