I have told them I cannot afford to pay it and I am deailing with CCCS. They have told me, that as a result of your information, this will now be escalated to door to door with higher fees.
I'm really worried now that someone will show up, and although I don'ty have to let them in, I may not be in, or if i'm in, then people in the hosue will ehar the debt collector.
I'm really worried now, as I don't want my debt problems for the rest of the household to know.0 -
I'm really getting stressed about this. I'm having sleep problems. I just wish there was a route out.

I'm sorry James, I know how you must be feeling, although since it's only me in the house (and the kids) I don't have to worry about it so much. Chances are that any debt collectors they pass this to will contact you by letter first. This should give you the opportunity to write back to them, insisting that all contact is written only.
Keep your chin up, I'm learning there are worse things in life than my debt, be grateful for the good things and try not to worry *hug*

I think I may be able to help a little, I pretty much managed to get myself into massive payday loan debt and PTP was one of the companies that gave me the hardest of times but eventually after receiving an email from me reminding them that I was aware for the financial ombudsman and my rights stopped phoning me completely and accepted my DMP- they never sent me a single door collector out- it would be too expensive for them to do that, when no one but baliffs can do anything. They're just trying o scare you- and what's worse it works!!!LBM June 2008 Debt at LB £6906.65 :eek:Payments to date-£2933.871 year to lose:j 20 pounds- September 2009 (9 so far) (Weight loss the old style way)"A life lived in fear, is a life half lived"0

James,
I think you should tell your parents. The only thing stressing you out is the thought that your parents will find out. OK they may tell you what a silly boy you've been, but at least you won't be living in fear. And you never know - your parents may be able to help, even if it's only with a little moral support.
PS You say you want your problems to be confidential yet you've posted using your own full name! Take my advice and change your username to something anonymous. Think, man! :-)My Debt Free Diary I owe:

I agree James - if coming clean will make this easier to deal with, do it. Nobody is perfect and making a mistake with your finances doesn't mean you should live in fear of loved ones finding out.
Even if they can't help materially - a problem shared is a problem halved. Might sound cheezy, but it's exactly why you posted on these forums, right?
They may be able to come up with some ideas to help too.
Even if you face a bit of flak, it will blow over. I know from both myself and my elder brother screwing up our monies. Parents didn't offer help financially, but they were very good at offering support..0
