Has Biasco gone bust again?

I've contacted my credit card company (HSBC) and have just heard from the disputes team.....apparently they need a letter from the liquidator to confirm that the company has gone bust before they will do anything so I've contacted the liquidators and sent them proof of purchase etc.
I don't know how long it will take the liquidators to get back to me with a letter that I will then have to forward to HSBC but I have a feeling this is going to drag on for a little while yet......but hopefully I will still get my money back at the end of it (HSBC have also suspended interest charges on the transaction because it is in dispute, which is a bonus and means I won't have to transfer the balance to another no interest card)0 -
Looks like they sold the web domain as https://www.biasco.com redirects to https://www.electricshop.com now.0

Many thanks to 'competitionscafe' for the info' on chargeback. Thanks to you we have just received £1,200 back on our Visa Debit card operated by Nationwide. We always understood if you paid by Debit card you lost your money if a company went bust. Having orderd 3 items from Biasco in November we have never heard from them despite writing as they suggested on the recorded message. Thanks again for without your info' we would have lost £1,2000

I have just found all these communications about Biasco after trying to get a refund for a dishwasher ordered on November 10th, then they offered a refund on 15th December. I was just about to go to County Court following Trading Standards advice. Thanks for the information about the liquidiation and whom to contact. They were very quick to contact and not wanting a County Court action!!
Thank you all for your help just sorry we were all in the same position . Biasco should have been stopped sooner, it would have saved us all a lot of hassel. I too have spent hours waiting for them to answer the phone. I am sorry for the person who ordered £10,000.00 of goods.
How can we stop this happening again?0 -

They are back up and running as The Kitchen Appliance Store.
They are also known as The Homestore and RTD Appliances0 -
I also used my Visa Debit card, phoned my branch of Nationwide who told me no chance of a refund. I then contacted Nationwide online banking who told me I could get a refund. They handled claim and I got my £360 back. I would contact my bank and ask if this is the case If they say no, contact the head office or online banking0

I purchased a cooker hood from Fiasco last May! They sent out two and they were both smashed to bits so I lost my patience with them and asked for a refund which they promised me. Nothing materialised so I phoned just before xmas to get an answerphone message to say they had gone bust. In the meantime I have brought another hood elsewhere to get my kitchen finished before xmas. So now I am £600 out of pocket. Luckily I used my Lloyds Visa Credit card when i brought from Fiasco, Or so I thought...! I couldn't get any joy from RTD (Fiasco parent Co) so I contacted Lloyds and forwarded all the facts and all the receipts etc to them, thinking that as I paid by credit card I was covered.
6 weeks later Lloyds have eventually contacted me to say that they are not prepared to pay out on this and that " We would suggest you contact the receivers of RTD to ascertain if any funds will be available to unsecured creditors". So much for insurance on credit card purchases.!
Anybody got any suggestions as to where I stand on this.?0 -
Placed an order at the end of Nov 2008 for two kitchen appliances to the value of £403.00 - they took the money from my credit card straight away and sent me order confirmation with a deliver date w/c 04/12. That came and went, I chased them up to be told that the order wouldn't be ready for delivery until after the first week in Jan 09. Fair enough, Christmas couldn't be that bad without an oven....except that week came and went. Rang them to chase on Jan 16th to be met by an answering machine telling me that RTD UK had ceased trading and to contact my credit card company. On that date both websites were still up and running. Have lodged a dispute with the credit card company and sent them all the documentation they requested. Both websites then disappeared. Have tried the sites again this morning to find Biasco is now a 'multi million pound' organisation serving everyone from Joe Public to councils etc... and I now notice they accept Paypal too! RTD UK the parent company no longer seems to exist. Wonder if its been taken over yet again?
Do I leave the credit card company to sort it out or do I ring for a refund?
DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY WITH THE PROVERBIAL BARGE POLE :mad:0 -
Their website is up and running again, I'd drop them a line with the order details and ask what they intend to do about it all...0
