Lauren have you contacted CCCS, a charity group there to help you with your debts. We did it last week and though it took a while to get the online forms right they have helped us work out a budget and stopped the flipping phone ringing. Just the mention of them scares the bejeebez out of people you owe money to.

I can't seem to grow beetroot or I would join in the group :) mind you I said I couldn't grow carrots last year but have managed to grow perfect baby carrots in 2 tubs.

    I've been Money Tipped!
The effort of trying to fight it probably isnt worth it, I paid off £16k of the mess 2 ex's left me in over the past 3 years, means !!!!!! all to them. Only had £12k to go too. admittedly about £4k was down to me.

I have lost the will to answer my phone now, mbna keep threatening me with bankruptcy, it doesnt scare me anymore, if they do it its £600 i dont have to find to do it myself.

Needless to say Bankruptcy is about to bite my behind. Not one creditor was prepared to halt the charges, accept what I could pay or suspend my accounts until Income support paid up,

If you're still on IS, you will be exempt from the £150 court fee, so "only" £450 :) Let me know if you need any help with this - I'm a CAB debt adviser.

Lauren, :grouphug: Please don't let them frighten you. It's definitely worth contacting CCCS or similar (check out the links in my sig!) as they can help and there are loads of ways now of sorting things out that aren't quite so drastic as bankruptcy. Debt relief orders and the like - what you owe is within the limits.

MBNA won't bankrupt you. It simply won't be worth their while, unless you have a mansion or some priceless heirlooms you're keeping quiet about ;) So I know it's hard but don't let them get to you.

    Morning All

Well I'm still here - haven't popped yet as OH so nicely put it although feel like it at the minute - thank god its raining though so I am cooler - although still hot so my fan is now position AT my seat for me to melt in!
Hoping she gets shift on though - don't fancy being induced again.

Well would you believe its nearly 7am and I am about to make flapjacks for my mother arriving at 8am. She always comes down and is hungry - her boyfriend is very lazy and pays no food bills at all so when she comes here she snacks/feasts on whatever is in my cupboard. Always send her away with a bag of bits too because she never has much in her cupboards because he insists on eating all of it as soon as its through the door with no contribution.

Have been looking for the website that tells you what supermarket items have VAT on them so I can avoid them and see if I can make the item myself - seem to be getting behind with paying things whilst I adjust to having fortnightly maternity pay instead of monthly wages but its a god send because I think we'd be screwed otherwise at the minute. Plus am still trying to get use to the fact we are on a gas meter now again - and want to start trying to get us ahead with money on that but know it cant be done until pay day obviously but last thing I need is us going cold over Christmas so am going to start trying to top it up a little extra each month to see us through! Plus re reading the using no electric/gas thread and preparing for winter one.

Hope everyone is well. hugs x

Gawd Sammy - the things you say you come over as a positive Rock to your family. I do hope they appreciate the way you look out for them.

Still keeping fingers crossed that things go well with the babe-to-be.

    Take care.

Thanks Ceridwen - that's very sweet of you to say.

I do tend to put others before myself which isn't always the best scenario but that's the sort of person I am - I believe if others around me are happy then that's what matters and I really cant do with seeing people struggle. I really like the Buddhist' philosophy regarding karma and their beliefs on suffering. Its basically in a nutshell says there are four noble truths , 1. is that life leads to suffering in one way or another, 2. is that suffering is caused by craving, 3. is suffering ends when craving ends, and the 4th is achieved by following the path laid out by the Buddha. (ok so the 4th one is a bit out there as I'm not a buddhist) but I do believe if you do good, you'll get good in return and that craving things can cause you to suffer so I don't want for anything for myself only others and even if it is a littel happiness at least it has an effect on them.

Thanks for the well wishes with babe - she's due tomorrow so I will make sure to update you all when she decides to get her bum in gear! I will be serving her eviction notice tomorrow so times will be tough for her! lol x :p
