Rummer - So sorry for your news. Just before Christmas is a horrible time to find out. I suppose in an ironic sort of way though at least it's better to know before Christmas so that you can exercise a little control and try to rein in your Christmas spending a little. I've never agreed with those employers who have to declare redundancies and wait until after Christmas 'so they don't ruin their employees' Christmas. This just allows people to operate under a false sense of security so they continue spending as usual and then when the news hits them in January they also have big Christmas credit card debts as well. If it does have to happen I hope your husband is soon able to find another job.0

Finding out more information should help. We should be able to survive but we really need to get our "house" in order so that we are reducing our outgoings. Been tightening our belts for a long time though and we are running out of things to cut back on. Going to scour the boards to see what else we can save on. Just cleared my wardrobe out to see what can be e-bayed!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

Well done for being pro-active about your situation at a difficult time. The first time Dh was made redundant it was terrible. The second time it happened, we knew we could come through it. Fortunately neither time was for very long, but it still upsets your whole life."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
