I agree about the basic washing powder. I bought 4 small boxes of the dicontinued stock at 35p each. But have now run out. I suppose it is still cheaper than any of the others though.
Does anyone have any ideas what to do with the basic diswasher tablets? I used 3 out of the box and they are useless. Any other ideas for them? I hate to throw anything away.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

He was even turned down by a well known DIY chain for not completing one of those personality/psychology quizzes at the back of the application form to their liking (not matching their psychological staff profile closely enough they said!).. funny thing is he used to run a store where he was responsible for hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of stock but he's not good enough to work on the shop floor for them?
I know! I work with disabled folk, helping them into employment and I know exactly which company/issue you have! Got round it by applying online, and re-jigging the personality/psychological questions until they got through the screening. My lady had worked for their main competitor for 6 years and only left them when she had her car accident! :rolleyes:0 -

I sometimes use a dishwasher tablet to 'service-wash' the washing machine: i.e. running it empty on a hot cycle when it gets a little smelly (I only ever wash on 30°C)."Remember that many of the things you have now you could once only dream of" - Epicurus0 -

Thank you very much for your post, you have no idea how much I appreciate it.
Though we have been very lucky now (blessed, not lucky), I was devestated when we got that feedback from this chain..I couldn't believe it or understand it.
Some people we told just laughed it off, saying "oh you just have to do this or that..it's not a big thing" (which hurt too) but I don't think they realised that after month and months of rejection it was very painful and hard to take...that something so stupid could stop a good, capable man from getting honest work.M.A.C.A.W member number 39

We will end up living on tatties ...until the next potato famine. Or Marie Antoinette's cake !
Hate to be dim and don't laugh, I'm sure the answer is obvious to everyone, but as I'm having a senior moment (one of many ha ha!), what is Marie Antionette's cake? Please.Sealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

I assumed it referenced the famous "let them eat cake " comment,0 -

Sorry to hear that so many people are having a tough time. We are just starting to get back on our feet and it has been a long hard slog. I hope things start getting better for you all soon.

Things just got a whole lot worse for us, we have been told by our landlord that we have eight weeks to leave as they want to use the property. Having been to our local council to request help with housing we were given an appointment to see the relevant dept at the end of Aug, so effectively we are on our own, looking at private rents they are double our current rent and many will not allow pets or kids.
I feel like all the doors closed in my face today and I do not know what to do now. :mad:0
