Rain is horrible here, really hard, hope it doesn't turn to snow, I was just starting to get excited about spring! Want it to perk up as I'm off to Brighton for the weekend - don't wanna get washed off the prom!

Just put the heating on ready for when the kids come in from school, it's perishing again! Glad that the kids have all kept on wearing their slippers and jumpers even though the weather warmed up for a while. Nice warming cauli cheese and sausages for their dinner - best sort out a nice hot pud as well!

    Hi Kittie

I was just wondering where you ordered the hops and lavendar from? My Husband watched the grow your own drugs programme last night when I was at night school and has ordered the berries but we don't know where to get the hops from.

He is a terrible sleeper and would try anything (I think I will have to hit him on the head with a hammer soon to knock him out if he keeps waking me up wandering about)!!!! :rotfl:

    Thanks

LOL, we have hops growing in the hedgerows near me. I used to pick them every year and hang them in my kitchen for decoration.

Only another week until my interview. I don't know if I am hoping to get the job or not as I really didn't want to work full time yet. It will mean putting DD into after school care every day and I will hardly get to see the kids at all.

Well Kittie, you wouldnt like to live here ! :) three streetlights in the village and the next village is over 12 miles down the road ! but lovely stars...
I agree re internet though. It makes life bearable for people who are cut off in one way or another. Scotlands council tax is frozen for the second year running, and we dont pay for water in the same way as you.
B on the other hand its a minimum 24 miles round trip to the nearest shop either up the road or down it, so we need the car & all the costs that go with it.

Stars....what are they? I have to count myself lucky to see the moon in the sky at night....there is so much light pollution where I live that seeing stars is something I can only remember - we get to see so few.....

Rebecca15 re dried hops. Very hard to find unless you want 10 foot garlands. I got some from ebay in the end. I have some lovely fine cotton shirting in white with a teeny bit of white embroidery on it, £3 a metre from ebay and that included postage and sold on 10 m (ish) rolls. (I have about 16 rolls of various cottons stashed here. ) ok it will last me a lifetime but I have already used some for duvet covers, fitted sheets, pillowcases etc and now will make 10 sleep bags. They only have to be thin

that chicken soup on grow your own drugs was wonderful

ps my dh was tossing and turning again last night so here I am bog-eyed again. It`s that darn quiet, low grade music next door, he has it on all night and my dh can hear every bit of it. So log filled in again and nice letter left next door and my dh will see him this evening. Neighbour has to conform to the terms of the lease and he has now had long enough to adapt.

You can buy hops from homebrew suppliers and shops - or at least you used to be able to buy them. Might be worth googling or checking any local suppliers.
