I've just come back from a shopping trip - and I didn't buy anything in Boots!!!
I wasn't even going to go in at all but then I saw the Elle McP bags on a display near the door and decided to go have a little look - I agree that they look really nice.
And it gets worse....on Thursday I went shopping in the evening and didn't go in Boots at all (spent most of my time queueing up in M&S, LOL!)
What is wrong with me.....:o
Hi clare+3:) I am the same. I went into boots this afternoon with DD. She bought some make-up, but I came away empty handed. I even spotted the S&G sets for the first time, but decided not to buy anyboots is so dull at the moment:rolleyes: come on mr B, get your act together and give us some decent tillspits. we wouldn't say no to some reductions either (should I put that in red?;) )
I don't know if any of you read the article 'where to bag your xmas bargains' in fridays sun newspaper? They mentioned you get the 17 smokey eyes kit, WYS 5.00 on 17. But, they had a picture of the No7 Shimmer Eye Palette. I wonder if I took the page into boots would they honour it?:rotfl:0 -
Evening all,
Went to the Oxford Retail Park Boots today and saw the No 7 High Lights Illuminating Lotion for the first time! My local has not had this in stock- looks fab :j.
My sister took a shine to both of the shades and has asked for them for Christmas- it's annoying as I would have snapped them up while the pinkies were valid if my local had stocked them- instead I ended up using up my last few pinkies of hand saviours
Anyways does anyone know if these are part of the limited edition Christmas range, or will they are permanent addition? Don't want to pay full price if I can avoid it, but don't want to miss out on them either!
Oh and if any has any spare ones they would like to swap for a hand saviour just give me a shout!!
IMHO, you aren't missing much with the hi lights lotion, I put it on under my new photogenic £25 lancome foundation..(whispers...yes I spent £25 quid on foundation     ...I am still recovering, that 1) I bought it, and 2) I am using it    ) and it just seemed to make my face all shiny to be honest...not glowy....but kinda shimmery...? Don't know if it was the way I applied it or what..but not impressed:rotfl:

I don't know if boots does them, but you just reminded me of my sister, who when she was a teenager had mass amounts of makeup. She bought a cheap medium-sized plastic toolbox with trays that fold out and used that, lol. I think she still does. It's a cheap solution to the problem, though it was funny to see her pull out a toolbox full of makeup. It was sort of a visual metaphor for how the cosmetics were tools to fix up her face, lol.
edit: omg, I just searched amazon and they have funny "ladies" toolboxes and tools for 11.95. My sister's wasn't nearly so colorful; hers was more like the ones for less than 5 quid at Argos.
I got a clear one of these from Poundland. It has 2 trays, which are actually attached, so they lift up as you open the lid, if that makes sense! However I can only fit as small amount of my stash in here, the rest is in one of those storage units from next, with the 3 plastic drawers, about 2ft high!! I have way too much stuff, but still keep buying more!
ETA - think the label on it said it was some kind of artist's case... I have this theory that chocolate slows down the ageing process.... It may not be true, but do I dare take the chance?0 -
Does anyone have one of the above and does it actually do anything other than fluttering a bit of water here and there? Got one for my Mom today, she always has aches and pains in her legs and feet, so I thought it would be a good treat.
Box made it sound like it was all that and then some. Put water in and switched it on. Mom put her feet in and looked at me and said "Is this actually meant to be doing something?". LOL. Thought she was having a laugh, so I tried it too. Other than flinging a bit of water here and there, it seems useless. There is no vibrating action under the soles or where all the fancy holes and dips are.
I'm confused. Did I carry this stupid thing all the way from BOOTS for absolutely no reason? Should have got the cheap and nasty looking NO 7 one at a third of the cost of this !!!!!! one! Mimi is not impressed. *mega pout*
Hi Mimi, perhaps it's not working properly, I have one of these and it goes crazy. Press once for gentle, then press again for spa. I had aromatherapy stuff in and the bubbles went wild, and within seconds it was spewing bubbles all over the place, so had to go back to the first setting.- Press once = Massage & Heat
- Press twice = Massage & Heat and bubbles.
Tell your Mum to try it again, she'll love it :j
Whoops, just read your heading, Mine IS "the nasty looking NO 7 one at a third of the cost of this !!!!!! one!" Take it back and get the N07 one, tell them it's not working properly.~ What goes around comes around ~0 -
Hey, just wanted to say thank you to one and all - I am an occasional lurker (alright, sometimes more than occasional
) but am very grateful to all you wonderful posters... my legs are nice and smooth (Wilkinson's) my hair is beautiful and shiny (Umberto) and I "Admit I want you" ... not found that one yet!!
As my little aside, anyone in the Nottingham area is strongly recommended to go to the Boots Big Brother Factory they have - the testing centre is fab and I have additional hair/body/face Boots products to play with too
Thank you all muchly for your posts and general cheerDFW Nerd #1310 -
snipped.... Also what is this glich for Ella bags. What are S&G sets? Did I read correctly and you can get the No7 GWP if you buy wipes packs? Also I only get the health club mailing, nothing else. Where do I get the double points etc?
I am mega confused. I want to try out some glitches tomorrow and I just don't know where to start. I hope you don't mind me asking, but I did look throught the thread, but ended up even more baffled!
I thinks it's the 17 GWP - which is a pretty tin containing smoky eyes eye dazzle, eye liner pencil and mascara wys £5 on 17 ( so a cheap way to do it is 2x 17 wipes @ £2.99)
http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10052&productId=852354&langId=-1&catalogId=11051
The Elle bags are half price offer of the week also on 342
http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10052&productId=123114&callingViewName=&langId=-1&catalogId=11051
Try a visit to the acm first, you may get a total spend voucher eg 200/300 points wys £25/£35
Another easy one to try is the razors 1/2 price and 342 so pay £3.98 http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10052&productId=54712&callingViewName=&langId=-1&catalogId=11051
and keep any eye out for the botanics facial pampering set now £1.95
